I'm a half-dutch, vegetarian, movie-watching, bike-riding, NPR-listening, kind of gal. I love to travel. I've been lucky enough to have made it to three continents so far, and am planning on making it to all seven. I love food- cooking, eating, smelling, even reading, thinking and debating it. I like to consider myself a good cook and I'm always trying out new recipes or attempting to improve old ones. I don't consider myself to be a big sports fan, but I love OSU football (go Bucks!), watching a good soccer game with friends (go Columbus Crew! go Oranje!) and I can never tear myself away from the Olympics.

I am recent nursing graduate who just moved to DC to participate in Americorps. I'm working an area nonprofit that assists homeless women in DC and I love it!

Making homemade bread, solving the rubik's cube, calming others down, and giving shots (I'm a nurse, so this comes in handy!)

Hmmm. . . I used to say my long hair but I just got a hair cut so now I don't know!

These lists could go on forever, but here are the highlights:

Books- Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, Good Omens, The Tipping Point, and anything by Daniel Pinkwater

Movies- Little Miss Sunshine, The Breakfast Club, Pride & Prejudice, and anything by Wes Anderson.

Shows- Parks & Recreation, Fringe, Lost, and Grey's Anatomy

Music- Mumford & Sons, Noah and the Whale, Andrew Bird, The Steel Wheels, Coldplay, and Arcade Fire.

Food- All of it. Just not seafood. Or meat (well, I really like bacon, I just don't eat it).

Other than the obvious (believe it or not, I do count family and friends to be pretty important) here are a few of my essentials:

A good pair of jeans
My MacBook Pro
My library card
Chili Powder (I put this in almost everything I cook!)
Coffee
Travel plans (I have a very severe case of the travel bug)

Traveling, what I'm going to cook for dinner, the enneagram and Myers-Briggs personality types, the Bechdel test, and whatever book I'm currently reading. Right now, that's Game of Thrones. And I'm really really hooked!

Drinking wine with my housemates.

I'm really proud to say that I've hitchhiked!
