My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to consider myself a (semi-)athletic (sorta) nerd. Guess I kinda fall through the cracks on a lot of things and am still trying to find where I fit in exactly.

I am happy-go-lucky and winsome. I expect for things to always work out for the best. I suppose that makes me a bit of an optimist.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm recently finished my masters in Linguistics and just received my certificate for Human Language Technology. I was so excited when I got those. And while I'm still working at IBM doing basically helpdesk work, but now that I'm done, I've begun working as a part-time remote contractor for a company based out of Montreal who are working on a program to help people learn English as a second language in an interactive environment.

Oh, and I just started doing gymnastics. It's a lot of fun, even if I'm not very good at it. There are people there doing all sorts of crazy things which just leave me in awe, and a little embarrassed while I struggle with my handstand. Eventually, eventually I'll get there. I know I will. I've also started running, and ugh, it's taken me several months just to be comfortable running a quarter mile without my feet or ankles or knees killing me, but hopefully now I can kick it into a higher gear. Maybe if I get good enough at both I can move towards trying out Parkour which seems like a lot of fun.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I really like Linguistics, especially grammatical analysis. I'm also fairly decent at taking something that's complex and breaking it down into everyday speech so that people will actually know what in the world was meant by it. Oh, and I can usually pick up anything pretty quickly.
The first things people usually notice about me

I would have to say my smile. I'm almost always smiling. It doesn't take much to make me smile, and I get asked a lot what's so funny, but unfortunately I can never come up with a witty answer, and the truth is it's usually something completely mundane, like rhubarb. Mmm, pie.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Wow, too many to list. Um, as far as food goes, I absolutely love my mom's spaghetti. I usually fix it once a week or at the very least once every other week.

Music-wise I have a pretty broad spectrum of what I listen to, but I just discovered AWOLNATION; absolutely fantastic and if you haven't listened to it, you should give it a try. Otherwise, I'll listen to anything from the Decemberists to Nightwish or Blind Guardian and Diablo Swing Orchestra. About the only thing I absolutely can't stand are Country and Rap, and even there there might be 1 or 2 exceptions; for example Cup of Brown Joy by Elemental.

My favorite movies and books are far too numerous to list but as a small sampling. Books: A Song of Ice and Fire, the Dresden Files, DragonLance, the Cold Fire Trilogy, anything by Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, and recently Martin Millar.

Movies:The Flight of Dragons (probably had more influence on me than any other movie from my childhood and if you haven't seen it I highly recommend changing that right now.) The Last Unicorn, Legend, anything by Stephen Chow with my current favorite being Kung Fu Hustle. Oh, and I just don't like zombie movies.

The complete music list, if it isn't on here, I probably haven't heard of it:
Aina, A Flock of Seagulls, Alaska in Winter, Alestorm, Andrew W.K., Angtoria, Annie, Aqua, The Arcade Fire, Architecture in Helsinki, AWOLNATION, Bach, Bangles, Beethoven, Beirut, Belle And Sebastian, The Beloved, Blackfield, Black Kids, Blackmore's Night, Blind Guardian, Blondie, Bonnie Tyler, The Bravery, Cake, Cheap Trick, The Cranberries, The Cure, Dark Moor, The Decemberists, Diablo Swing Orchestra, The Donnas, Dragonettes, Dragonforce, The Dresden Dolls, Edguy, Electric Light Orchestra, Enya, Era, Europe, Eurythmics, Evanescence, Faun, The Four Seasons, Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, Gaelic Storm, Garbage, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Go-Go's, Heavenly, IMA Robot, Indochine, Jamiroquai, Journey, Junior Senior, Kaki King, The Killers, The Knife, L'Ame Immortelle, Lacuna Coil, Leaves Eyes, Luca Turilli, Luca Turilli's Dreamquest, Lullacry, Metric, Midnight Oil, Modest Mouse, Melody Club, Mika, Mozart, Muse, Nena, Neutral Milk Hotel, New Order, The New Pornographers, Nightwish, Omnia, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Porcupine Tree, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Propoganda, The Protomen, Queen, Ratatat, Rhapsody, Royksopp, Sea Wolf, Scissor Sisters, Sonata Artica, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Southside Stalkers, Stephen Lynch, Stray Cats, Styx, Supertramp, Talking Heads, Tarja Turunen, t.A.T.u, Tears for Fears, Theater of Tragedy, Therion, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Tripod, The Tough Alliance, Ultravox, Vampire Weekend, Vanessa Mae, Vox Vermillion, Weezer, Within Temptation
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Well, I'm guessing water and food in general (especially My mom's spaghetti what can I say, it's delicious), automatically make the list but don't really count. Otherwise, hmm.
1:Of course my friends, family and pets.
2: The Internet.
3: Language study.
4: Reading.
5: Physical Expression (my form of choice being gymnastics)
6: Travel.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Languages. But I've already gone into that. I also think about(but haven't actually tried) writing. I also spend a lot of time wondering what dating is like.
Oh, and hair. I think about hair way, way too much. But I just love it and at times wish I was a girl just for the hair.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either hanging out with my friends, especially my cousins as we've sorta turned Friday nite into anime nite, or watching movies at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
For some reason, I just don't understand dancing; it just seems like a whole bunch of convulsions to me, especially the non-standardized dances. (By that I mean anything like ballroom dancing or salsa, at least those seem to have a series of movements that are to be preformed in a certain sequence)
