My self-summary
I've got a B.Sc. in mathematics, a certificate from the Internet ordaining me as a minister, and a Nintendo. Inquire within.

Those seeking references should inquire with graciemuse, my best friend/girlfriend/partner-in-crime.
What I’m doing with my life
In the fall, I'll be joining the University of Maine Dept. of Mathematics & Statistics as a graduate assistant. Meanwhile, I've got the summer off, so I'm taking it easy for a couple months, looking for a job, and working on a few projects that school kept me from: writing and reading, getting in shape, and teaching myself some measure theoretic analysis I didn't get to in undergrad. And, you know, my NES.
I’m really good at
Solving problems---seeing at once every contingency and turn that the universe can make. I'm classically trained in the School of Push Buttons Until It Works. Troubleshooting comes easily to our graduates. I like tinkering with things---I built my computer.

I'm very, very good at arguing. I took a few logic classes at the School of Push Buttons, too.

I'm pretty good at cooking and mixing drinks. Ask me about the Cinnamon Appletini or the Objectively Best-Ever Maple Chocolate Drink (and help me think of a name).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Currently reading A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin and Real & Complex Analysis by Walter Rudin. Some old favorites: Candide, early Chinese Taoist literature, and anything by David Sedaris.

Movies: There are a few I swear by: Ratatouille, Tangled, Star Wars, Little Miss Sunshine, and I'm not cool enough not to like Fight Club.

Shows: Doctor Who, How I Met Your Mother, waiting on Breaking Bad to kick back up. Working through the original Star Trek. Adventure Time, Regular Show, Bravest Warriors, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, Arrested Development, Jon Benjamin Has a Van, anything with Tim & Eric's stamp on it.

Music: All over the place. I like Protest the Hero, Streetlight Manifesto, They Might Be Giants, My Chemical Romance (yep), Weezer, Coheed & Cambria, fun.. I like progressive rock, metal, ska, electronic, rap, and chiptune music.

Food: Anything without a critter in it.
The six things I could never do without
This is, because I've been told the "food, water, ..." thing has been done to death, more like "six things I'm really glad to have around." So:

1. Google Drive. Hell, all of the various Google products I use to keep myself in check. Larry Page could do a pretty close job reconstructing me as an AI if he wanted.
2. Vegan Greek food, like hummus, pita, falafel, and iced mint tea.
3. Scotch.
4. Mega Man II.
5. graciemuse. (Now is a good time to mention that this list is unordered.)
6. The knowledge that I am a very tiny piece of a very large universe, which has kept me going through some rough patches.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Consciousness and ethics. Humanity's place in the universe and how we got it very, very wrong. Relationships. Whatever I happen to be writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with my friends. Or in with my friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have developed intricate back-stories for an impression of my mother as a squid-woman and my father as a backwoods Mississippi lawyer with a thick drawl. This isn't private at all, I just thought it was worth sharing.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–25
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
the intermingling of your culture and neurochemistry compels you to, and at that point it's not like you have a choice anyway.
