I am recently single and entering the online dating scene for the first time; it is almost as scary as I pictured it would be. I'm looking for someone that is laidback in general attitude. Also looking someone who understands that first dates are hard enough without having to lay out a battleplan, so we can both walk in with the intention of not playing tricks on each other.

I am in the medical field, so I am happy to acknowledge that I have a career, not a job. Also do some writing in my spare time for pocket change, which is my true passion (the writing, not collecting change).

Huge fan of Hunter S. Thompson's work, and recently have started getting into Kurt Vonnegaut. Yes, basically the same reading curriculum as a high school senior these days.
Movies= Isn't it funny how when someone asks what your favorite movie is, you hesitate to the point that it looks like you've never watched a movie in your life? Some of my favorites= Wes Anderson's films (Rushmore in particular), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Scorsese's filmography...it goes on and on.
Music...off the top of my head, Tom Waits, Gnarls Barkley, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Folds, Bon Iver, Edward Sharpe etc., David Gray, The Band, Bob Dylan, Leon Redbone, Louis Armstrong...I've really been getting into jazz lately, but I promise not to force that on anyone.
Food= I LOVE to check out new restaurants, and would love to meet someone who likes trying new things (ie. isn't afraid to eat something besides a hamburger).
