I am honest, sarcastic, and adventurous.
My Self-Summary
I'm an adventurer at heart. I'm obsessed with flying, and I've
always wanted to be Amelia Earhart, minus the disappearing thing.
Recently I've also started to become obsessed with climbing
mountains. I believe in making the best of whatever hand you're
dealt. I have a wicked sarcastic sense of humor. I love challenges
(of all kinds!) and really love adrenaline.
I'm a thinking gal. I'm also a little weird, and if you're not a
little weird, I doubt we'd get along. However, I love weird new
people. I believe strongly in being genuine, in caring for others,
in tolerance and open-mindedness... and if I like you, I can be
very sweet.
Right now I'm looking for somebody to go out with, hang out with,
be crazy with, and be good to. According to reliable sources, I'm
fun and funny once you get to know me.
What I’m doing with my life
I just graduated from college - I went to college in New York, just
for the hell of it - and now I'm back in Lincoln, trying to figure
out how to make an exciting career out of Political Science. I'm
going to go back to school for an M.A. one of these years. For now,
I have a full-time secretary-ish job at UNL (I'm a good secretary!)
that takes up a lot of my time, but it's good pay. I'm saving up
to: 1) visit a friend in China, 2) buy a motorcycle. Even though I
don't even how to ride one. Anyone want to show me, let me know
:)
So, other than working and writing stories (I write speculative
fiction, and I'm sloooowly working on a novel), I watch television
and movies, find new music, study for the GRE with friends, give my
cat insulin injections, run around the neighborhood...
I’m really good at
Downloading music off the internet, driving up and down 70th
street, finding my way through huge airports, spending hours on
wikipedia clicking on random things, making graphs in Excel, and
reading those little info signs they have at zoos and museums that
nobody reads. Oh yeah, and abseiling, kind of.
The first things people usually notice about me
I seem like a "nice girl." SEEM.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'm an adrenaline junkie, and I think the "doomsday!" genre is
where it's at. So...
Books:
- all Cormac McCarthy: No Country For Old Men, The Road
- Passage to India, Heart of Darkness, Macho Camacho's Beat, A
Sound and the Fury, Season of Migration to the North
- Stephen King
- Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass
Movies
- Apocalypse Now, my favorite movie of all time
- The Dark Knight, Sin City, 28 Days Later, Cloverfield, Silent
Hill, The Hills Have Eyes, Akira, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park,
Independence Day, etc.
- Synecdoche New York, Grizzly Man, Sunshine
Music
- Radiohead and Depeche Mode
- German metal (Rammstein, Death in June, Faun)
- Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones and Beatles covers
- Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Massive Attack
Television
- Battlestar Galactica
- Law & Order, etc.
Food
- pretty much anything, although I'm not a fan of bread (born and
raised on rice)
The six things I could never do without
Discounting the obvious like friends, family, pets, oxygen, water,
food...
1. My computer, with my hard drive.
2. My iPod, with my music.
3. Democracy!
4. Paper.
5. Writing utensils.
6. The tropics. (I grew up in Indonesia. Warm weather + cold beer =
bliss... until the mosquitoes start to bite)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Goddamn! A LOT of things. Creepy, crazy things, mostly. Will I
leave my friends to be eaten by zombies, or risk my life to save
them? Plus, where am I supposed to go without a local
Winchester?
I'm also a huge sports fan. I am a very good little Husker
cheerleader. My favorite Huskers shirt is the one that says
Children of the Corn! It doesn't hurt that black and red are my two
favorite colors.
(I wear a lot of pink, too. It balances out the black.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Recovering from a 40-hour work week! I've been known to go to a
movie or dinner downtown. Occasionally I go to bars with friends,
but I'm not really into the bar scene.
When I'm with my friends we're more likely to do random dumb
things. You know, waste two hours driving around Lincoln, trying to
find some obscure horror movie and discovering all the video stores
have closed. You know that feeling you get when you're with someone
you're so comfortable with that you can just live side by side and
be spontaneous and enjoy each other's company? I love that feeling.
And I'd like to have a boy to share that with. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I like reality shows. SOB! I adore Gordon Ramsay.
You should message me if
you're kind of weird and crazy and intense and at least a little
bit mature at the same time, and you think you'd like to get to
know me.
