Mechanical engineer by day, railroad photographer by night. MODERATELY FAMOUS railroad photographer by night. (That's right. There's even a Center for Railroad Photography and Art.)

Doing what I do and doing it well. Unfortunately, this means I always have a number of "projects" going and none of them moves along very fast.

One day I'd like to make a bunch of enormous prints of my photos and do a show in a gallery. I'll stand around and speak of my work in abstract, bullshit terms, some of which might be true, and people will put down thousands of dollars to decorate their dining rooms with trains, industrial scenes, or weird, abstract, outer-space-looking things. I hope, anyway.

Mixing metaphors, both tastefully and not.

I have no idea.

Books: Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas (the movie pales in comparison). I've also read the first three pages each of War & Peace and Crime & Punishment. I consider that an accomplishment.

Movies: Ernest Goes to UC Berkeley, Office Space, Dr. Strangelove, Inglourious Basterds, Chinatown, Pulp Fiction, Snakes on a Plane.

TV: Family Guy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men. I don't watch TV, so I just enjoy these here and there.

Music: CAKE. Oh, yeah, and I guess some other stuff.

Food: Right now I've got kind of a thing for the baked potatoes with assorted toppings from the Triple Rock in Berkeley.

1. Potato salad from the Home of Chicken & Waffles in poor old Jack London Square. No, seriously, it's AMAZING.

I don't think there's really anything else.

Traveling.

Sometimes I'm too tired on Fridays, so substitute Saturday if necessary. Then it usually winds up being one of the following two amazing options:

- Out with friends at a bar or something. Big surprise, right?
- Photographing BART's nocturnal maintenance locomotives. It's kind of an obsession.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

... you've ever wondered how many bars there are in San Francisco and how long it would take to systematically visit them all.
... you've ever played, or better yet were a developer for, Microsoft Forklift Simulator.
