My self-summary
Hi! I'm Joe. Nice of you to drop by!

I like to think I'm a relatively deep person. If you know what "MBTI: INFJ" means (or look it up - that's my type), you'll see that kinda comes in the package... but hey, I suppose that's part of learning about the guy you're reading about. You won't run across this very often. Cool!

Maybe sounds a little cliché, but I actually love having meaningful conversations that go on forever. Grab a drink, go some place nice and comfortable and just get to know each other - that's all I need for a great time.

I want to find someone who's as willing to get to know me as I would be willing to get to know her - past the superficial hohum stuff, down to the core. Not overnight of course - these things take time, but I'm all about dating for the long haul. I like the idea of being with someone who's honest (especially with herself), confident, and wants to help others learn and grow (not necessarily in the classroom).

For fun stuff, I have a sarcastic and often macabre sense of humor. I love music and I love singing. I get out and do karaoke a couple times a week - always a great time! I enjoy playing video games a bit, but these days mostly because I love a great story, especially one I can be involved in. That said, I'm always looking for a reason to be pulled away.

Feel free to drop me a line - I'd love to hear from you!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a trainer and manager in the customer support department of a major video game publisher. Getting here has taken some hurdles, but I'm pretty happy where I am right now.

I spend every Saturday with my friends in search of the next new and fun adventure - a taste of art at a gallery, a taste of wine or beer - whatever random thing sends the last week off and welcomes the new one! That is, once we're done recovering on Sunday... haha. Outside of work, I just want to see what else I can carve out of life and live it.
I’m really good at
singing. Everyone has heard better, but I'm good at what I do. I still can't stand the sound of my own recorded voice, though. I have acquired a guitar, but I am not so good with it yet.

You'll find me at Murphy's Law on Wednesday nights and Winton Bar and Grill on either Friday/Saturday nights so you can judge how that voice is :)

paying attention to detail. I seem to remember a lot of things that aren't necessary. It's weird, but comes in handy sometimes.

remembering things. I don't want to confuse this with saying I have a good memory, though I'm not quite sure how to make the distinction

massages. Usually back and neck massages - I'm genetically pre-disposed to being good at them, I guess
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm generally louder? My voice just carries very well, I don't mean to be
People usually notice that there's something "not quite white" about me. I have a shade of yellow because I'm half Thai. Not quite white. Haha, see what I did there?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: What Dreams May Come, Big Fish, 50 First Dates, Soldier, Iron Man, The Hangover, The Waterboy, Moulin Rouge, How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Up, I am Legend, Zombieland
Books: The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Here Comes Your Man (my cousin wrote it, love it)
Shows: The Walking Dead, Modern Family, Parks & Recreation, The Office, Scrubs, Continuum, Orange is the New Black, How I Met Your Mother, Archer
Music: My most favored stuff consists of artists that fit my voice set (so I can sing it!): John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Death Cab for Cutie, The Script, Yellowcard, Lindsey Stirling, Boyce Avenue, Peter Hollens, Mat Kearney
Games: I love story/character driven games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Witcher 2, The Walking Dead, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, Tomb Raider - but my roots go back to Mario (even though I preferred Luigi) and TMNT. Yeah, old school :)
The six things I could never do without
All those things that are required for high level functionality (oxygen, food, water, shelter, sleep, etc). Yeah, that counts as one.
My phone, only because it guarantees I have music

I like to think I can get by with just that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
who I am, who I want to be, how can I get there, am I getting there?
why I do things
why other people do things
whether I've done the right thing

if chivalry is dead, who killed it?
On a typical Friday night I am
either meeting coworkers at MacGregor's for some drinks (and bar singing if I've had enough, haha), jukebox abuse, and recovering from the work week

at Winton Bar & Grill, singing my heart out
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still have and occasionally use a deadjournal.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–29
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
- you enjoy the idea of having real conversations where you just say what's on your mind and that's okay. Straightforward, no games :)
- a guy having things together (stable job, own place, own car) is appealing to you
- you want to know a good guy, want to have a conversation, and have a certain appreciation for proper grammar, spelling, and language mechanics.
- you have an appreciation for nerdy things and a love for music. Points for being able to sing!
- you got to this point without skipping and you're still like, "whoa, COOOOOOL!" - or something less dramatic and still positive :)
