What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"I'm tired of chasing my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're headed and we'll meet up later."
- Mitch Hedberg

Back in May I quit my job as an electronic design engineer in the US to move to Auckland for a year. I had been working there for about 3.5 years and decided to make a change. I'm not sure what I'll be doing while I'm in NZ, I'm just going to see what happens! I'm pretty excited about this change but also a bit nervous. I don't know anyone in New Zealand, so don't be shy about contacting me. I'm always looking to make new friends.

In my previous engineering life I worked in Indianapolis and really enjoyed it a lot. I designed electronic circuits for a wide variety of clients (mostly wireless gadgets, sensors, remotes, stuff like that). I can see myself wanting to continue to do that type of stuff while I'm living here, but maybe as more of a hobby...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm pretty handy around the house. I just built a partition for my room out of old wooden palettes. It sounds weird, I know, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Dunno. I've recently gotten a couple nice comments about how straight my teeth are...

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What to have for dinner.

At 5:30 AM on August 18th, 2013 three friends and I summited Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft in elevation). It was incredibly cold and windy and I was a bit light-headed, but aside from that I made it up and down without any problems. This trip was 8 months in the making so I'm glad it turned out so well! I love hiking and camping and I hope to do more of that while I'm living here in New Zealand. So long story short, I spend a lot of time thinking about ways to be awesome. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I love checking out what a city has to offer as far as restaurants, bars, outdoor festivals, outdoor activities, even the real touristy attractions like the Sky Tower. I tend to feel "couped up" easily so I'm rarely at home on Friday and Saturday nights.

I'm looking for someone who is genuine, affectionate, and honest with herself. I can also handle (and sometimes enjoy) a fair bit of sass. So if you think that's you, bring it on. I want to be able to introduce you to my friends and I'd like us to all hang out together sometimes.

I'm interested in a girl who wants to cook dinner with me because I think that can be as romantic as dining together. And as I mentioned, I really like doing stuff outdoors: hiking, boating, snow skiing, camping, etc. You don't have to be good at these things but at least willing to try them!

I'm not really interested in a long distance relationship right now.

I consider myself to be pretty personable, so don't be afraid to ask me anything!
