I've written a ton of self-summaries, so I'm going to take a break and borrow words from someone who recently met me and gave me possibly the best compliments I've ever received.
"You have a wonderful combination of being very smart, but also having the courage to be open and honest.
You have a force of personality, which is a combination of your character, looks, experience that makes you a very compelling executive [what I do for work] and those traits also make you socially desirable, as a friend, significant other.... this was obvious to me from the start.
You are also surprising.... I think you are a woman of action." [I very definitely am.]
My second favorite compliment of all time is that I "have the short skirt/long jacket thing going" - for those of you who like Cake.
I've had an interesting life which has included an 11 year marriage and a divorce, a lifetime of growing up in an Evangelical church and home followed by (no kidding) an excommunication. A short bout with cancer, and a discovery of who I am and who my true friends and "family" are through all of that.
I really enjoy what I do for work. I'm an executive and I get to have a big fancy corner office and I do enjoy the power job which is something I never expected for myself. But the most rewarding part of my job is being able a good place for other people to work.
I enjoy all kinds of activities - outdoors when possible, artsy things (loving that part of New York), and I certainly enjoy good food, good drink and good company.
Being new to New York I am happy to meet people of all kinds - potential friends, casual dates, dates with long-term potential. I do trend upward when it comes to age (sorry 20-year-olds, I'm flattered but not interested).
The OkCupid crowd in Boston/Cambridge is really great at any age, and I'm hoping that's the case here!
