My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Ethan.

I'm a musician, an artist, and a full-time single father of an amazing young lady.

I'm a bit of a geek. Guitars and computers seem to suite me better than drills and fishing poles.

While I do live in South Carolina and have been here most of my life, I am not South Carolinian in nature. I don't have a southern accent. I'm not Matthew McConaughey. I don't go "huntin'". I'm not a raving college football fan. I don't listen to Darius Rucker. I don't keep a broken down truck in my yard, and I'm not a christian.

I'm just here for my family. Otherwise, I would like to be somewhere up north, probably out west, or else, maybe somewhere over seas.

I'm interested in philosophical Taoism and eastern philosophy, astronomy, music, and personal development. I value open-mindedness, compassion, nobility, integrity, fairness, humility, honesty, devotion, self-accountability, truth, and peace. I don't believe in judgement, having "requirements" or expectations. I'm here to make a friend first, and a partner later.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Among raising my daughter, I make my living as a web and graphic designer. On the side, I repair computer systems. I'm also a passionate musician (guitarist) of 23 years.

One of my dreams is running a professional recording studio.

Some musical material:
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Woo'ing women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, piloting bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and cooking Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes... (Really?) :P

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. (What?...) O.o

Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. (Hmm...) >.>

Actually, I play a mean game of Tetris with cabinet and refrigerator items, and perform an assortment of somewhat accurate impressions and foreign accents.

My thumbs are even double jointed...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look a little younger than my age.
I sound a little younger than my age.
Thanks to my daughter, sometimes I am a little younger than my age :D

My fingers seem to have become long, slender and agile through 23 years of playing guitar.

I'm actually curious what YOU might first notice about me.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I don't like to spend too much time thinking. But when I do, it's usually about the people I love - my family, closest friends, etc. Otherwise, I just enjoy the present moment. I don't see life as an equation to figure out. I don't see life as a race. For me it's more like a song. Sometimes the music sounds sad, sometimes it sounds happy, and sometimes it just sounds steady. I spend time letting myself experience the song and identifying myself in it.
On a typical Friday night I am

2. Playing guitar

4. Meditating
5. Chatting with some friends online
6. Taking walks or mountain biking

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you want to make a new friend, regardless of whether or not it will go further. It might or it might not. I don't really believe in arranged relationships. I don't really believe in having expectations or requirements except those I have for myself, to show manners and respect, and to be the kind of person I would want to be around.

There's always a chance I'm not going to be the one to make first contact with you - though I will visit your profile, so if you think I'm worth a shot, I leave that decision up to you. :)
