Ah, yes, genius ...
Even though I am one of the few quasi-native Atlantans, I am still finding that there are aspects of this city I don't know about or that have changed since I was last out on the town. I am an "inside the perimeter" kinda guy that loves driving fast through rural Georgia (and ITP) to see what's around the bend ... comfortable at art gallery openings, fund raisers, grass roots performance art events, local pub/club or just hanging out watching movies. I'm also a tinkerer - happy to have my hands deep into something trying to "fix" it - or break what "ain't broke."
I think variety is good and tolerance IS even better. I don't expect you, or anyone, to like everything I like, but I think compatible people should enjoy spending time with each other without loathing "X" that the other person likes/to do. (As long as it's not Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance ... give me a stage of cute female redheads any day, but lord o' mighty!! make his tiny legs stop flailing around!!)
Overall I think I am fairly low maintenance - easy going, yet up for some good mischief with the right person. If you forced me to take a test, you'd find at least I'm an INFP. (Although history says I don't mix well with ESTJs.) And if you forced me to go out on the town night after night after night after night, I'd probably be tired, but would have had a blast! Dancing, drinking, people watching, live music, anything a bit off-beat always seems interesting - and 83+% of the time is! But I'm also good just staying in.
If there were a choice, I'd take the mountains over the beach ... a river over the ocean, photorealism over impressionism, tex-mex over italian or sushi, intellectual banter over thoughtless dribble, and keylime pie over anything!
Movies: just about all sci-fi, Star Wars, Brazil, LordOTRings, Pan's Labyrinth, Pi, Empire of the Sun, Back to the Future, Primer, Princess Bride, Bladerunner, Hangover ... documentaries, Pixar, epics, comedy, romcom, etc
TV: How I Met Your Mother, HDTV, TLC
Shows: The last concert (true concert) was Phantogram. Before that, Cracker and Dean & Britta. I do like live comedy shows - improv - but always open for something unique and creative. A while ago I used to go to just about every art gallery opening/show in town ... theses days I'm not sure even when they are happening ... if any! (HELP!)
Music: Been listening a lately to Metric, Phantogram, XTC, BEP, Beatles, Stars, Broken Social Scene, Pixies, Postal Service, Cracker, Cat Power, Camper Van Beethoven, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Smiths. Can't leave out Interpol, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Bran Van 3000 and Replacements, etc. And then who doesn't love Barenaked Ladies!!??! ;) Bunches of 60's, 70s, 80s classics ... Rock-a-billy, etc ...
Food: good tex-mex does the body good (Elmyr burrito ... yum), pizza, thai, sushi, etc ... although when I'm out I eat mostly pescetarian
yummy tex-mex burrito
memory - it is what we all are
Six classic toys: slinky, fisher price little people, legos, play-doh, Mr. Potato, Magic 8 ball.
b) why some people try and mask how mean and unpleasant they truly are by claiming they are just being "authentic"
c) how crazy of a site this is and how people seem to have wacky expectations for everyone else, yet don't seem capable of holding a coherent conversation of their own
d) how to take over the world
e) why do most of the women on here love sports?!?
f) that old painting I never finished
g) the people I am more an "enemy" with on here than a "match." (Why can't we all just get along?)
i) is there some science, scifi, tech, makers, weird/alternative convention/show coming up that would be interesting to attend
j) adding onto my geneology research
k) that project involving optics, that new food idea, some business idea, an alternative social media idea, testing out that business idea, that new vehicle thingy, my iphone invention, aquaponics, the other food thingy ... putting together that book, etc, etc, etc.
Oh, and I generally dislike people who use the word "authentic" ("You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.")
