Spot on. I rarely slow to a complete stop--as I'm usually too interested in the way the story ends to stop paying attention. I love what I do as a media/technology entrepreneur, producer, sailor, musician, writer, skier, dad, and candlestick maker.
OK, the candlesticks are a stretch but I frequently do make great martinis...
I know lots and lots of people, but have just a few truly great friends who mean the world to me. My now adult kids are amazing (to me at least) and they are the greatest joy and the best teachers in a life that hasn't lacked in those departments.
On balance I'd MUCH rather laugh than mourn but there are times where each of those are in season. I see humor in life in general and marvel at the variety of experiences that have come my way. The stories of the people who have crossed my path are like pieces of a mosaic that keeps getting more interesting and complex. And beautiful.
A serious traveler--have been all over Europe, Oz and parts of Asia. Never ventured to South America or Africa yet but looking forward to those trips at some point. Love to wander around museums of all kinds---have made a living in a couple of different creative professions and truly love art and design. My house ran out of wall space for my vintage 30s posters a long time ago.
I appreciate great food but love a great burger, too. A killer breakfast place ranks as the 8th wonder of the world to me in whichever city I'm lucky enough to discover one.
For me the glass is 3/4 full. I make my living by building on and spreading around great ideas and have a hard time imagining working in a way that didn't engage my imagination and love of creation. Have done well in business and have been fortunate enough to work with some incredible people along the way.
I'm hoping you have (like me) made mistakes. The kind that when you reflect on them you are grateful at least for what you learned. Your heart has been broken and maybe more than once. But in spite of that your spirit is intact--bruised maybe--but still there.
Though I don't have a clue as to who you are looking for or why, I suspect if you have made it this far, that might be a good sign. I've left a very long term relationship (for all the right reasons) in search of the rest of the story of my life and am looking for brave souls who might want to wander some of the same paths.
