My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Warm, funny, passionate, intuitive gal here.

As a true family girl, I stay very close to my parents and awesome brothers.
My full time work keeps me occupied, traveling with scholars, art collectors, and the likes around Europe to learn about art; while I teach graduate courses in art and architectural history at George Washington University in the fall and spring.

I am an avid scuba diver and plan trips around where I'd like to dive next. I just earned my license in underwater archaeology in Pompeii in September. It has been a goal of mine for years and decidedly not waiting around anymore to accomplish this.

When I am home in DC I try to stay active, head to museums, plan dinner dates with friends, paint, take day trips out to vineyards, go to the gym, entertain cooking experiments, camp, ski, enjoy small music venues, and try to squeeze in ample boating with my family. I am more low key in general and prefer a lovely meal and conversation over clubs.

Fortunately, my job structures that which I really love in life: design, architecture, archaeology, seafood, teaching, family, history, the Mediterranean, painting, and the countryside.

Finding a good man, from a good family who is looking for a solid woman with her own interests (other than happy hour, brunches and pedicures), is certainly my goal but not my sole mission. There is no laundry list of qualities but would be happy to find a man who likes to travel, food, culture, and intellectual conversation but need not advertise that; a man with ambition without losing sight of the value of family; and a man who has learned from relationships while keeping an optimistic eye out for a similar woman. Character is supremely important.

-working, teaching, traveling, painting, studying...preparing for my PhD in architectural history

-trying to get back into running daily, I miss it!

Music: Happy music, sometimes mellow but if I start feeling sad I will change it immediately. If I want to be reflective I listen to Ludovico Einaudi. Haven't listened? Look him up! Also like: Lykke Li, Foster the People, The XX is great, Pheonix, Lorde, Creedance Clearwater, Eagles, The Who, (yeah anything from the 60s/70sis good...) Lana del Rey, etc...Love throwbacks to 90's rock.

Movies: Action, drama, comedies, romantic comedies and especially historical films--NOT horror, I hate horror films. Some of my favorites: Tombstone, The Prestige, The Sound of Music, Indiana Jones (except the 4th), The Book Thief, Gladiator, U571. Anything historically-related, I'm there.

Books: Anything regarding architecture, history, travel, art and biographies. Love, love to read about archaeology and WWII-related stuff.

Food: Coffee, wine, campari, olives, cheese, oranges, chocolate, strawberries, kale, steak tartare, tuna tartare, black label prosciutto, salmon lox, and truffle oil. I could live on Mediterranean, Sushi and Middle Eastern food forever. I'm *very picky about Italian food. I've challenged people to find an authentic Italian eatery, and still nothing.

Shows: Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Modern Family, Mindy Project (Mindy Kaling is hilarious), Friends, and anything about antiquity or World War II on the History Channel.
The six things I could never do without

- Has technology really improved our quality of life or not?
- How much more would we know about the world (and antiquity) if the library at Alexandria hadn't been burned down?
-if I nap now, will I really get up in one hour?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
- meeting a friend for a dinner date
- Possibly just at the gym and then in early for dinner, movie and a solid night's sleep
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
