As a true family girl, I stay very close to my parents and awesome brothers.
My full time work keeps me occupied, traveling with scholars, art collectors, and the likes around Europe to learn about art; while I teach graduate courses in art and architectural history at George Washington University in the fall and spring.
I am an avid scuba diver and plan trips around where I'd like to dive next. I just earned my license in underwater archaeology in Pompeii in September. It has been a goal of mine for years and decidedly not waiting around anymore to accomplish this.
When I am home in DC I try to stay active, head to museums, plan dinner dates with friends, paint, take day trips out to vineyards, go to the gym, entertain cooking experiments, camp, ski, enjoy small music venues, and try to squeeze in ample boating with my family. I am more low key in general and prefer a lovely meal and conversation over clubs.
Fortunately, my job structures that which I really love in life: design, architecture, archaeology, seafood, teaching, family, history, the Mediterranean, painting, and the countryside.
Finding a good man, from a good family who is looking for a solid woman with her own interests (other than happy hour, brunches and pedicures), is certainly my goal but not my sole mission. There is no laundry list of qualities but would be happy to find a man who likes to travel, food, culture, and intellectual conversation but need not advertise that; a man with ambition without losing sight of the value of family; and a man who has learned from relationships while keeping an optimistic eye out for a similar woman. Character is supremely important.
