My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name's Jon, I'm an electronics tester working on becoming a full time author. I'm a major nerd, I love books, scifi, fantasy, steampunk, movies, television, music, video games...the works. I place a very high importance on my spiritual life, but I don't fit great into one denominational definition. Biggest one would be Baptist, honestly. My main hobbies are reading, writing and board games.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working on improving my career as a writer. I've recently been published in Wyrd Games latest rulebook, Crossroads, where I wrote the stories The Hidden Music, Blurring the Lines and co-wrote Tyrant Games. I also got published by them in one of their online magazines, the Wyrd Chronicles, back in March, with the story The Nature of Souls. Kinda fun moving writing from being a hobby into a profession, although it is *quite* strange.

Currently working on my own stuff, with a future goal of getting a short story published in Asimov magazine in the next six months.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing fiction, board games, discussion on just about any topic.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Honestly, probably my opinions. I tend to be fairly quiet until a topic that I'm interested in comes up, then I jump in with a fair amount of passion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Oh...this could get stupidly long.

Favorite books at the moment, in no particular order...

Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson)
Way of Kings (also Sanderson)
Safehold series (David Weber)
Honor Harrington series (also Weber)
Chasing Daylight (Erwin McManus)
The Lies of Locke Lamora (Scott Lynch)
Into the Storm (Larry Correia)

Favorite movie is Guardians of the Galaxy, hands down. Ah, that movie rocked!

Shows... Babylon 5, Castle, Leverage, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Music, I'm all over the place, from hard rock to swing to steampunk. Particular favorites would be Rich Mullins, Demon Hunter, Steampowered Giraffe, Abney Park, Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch. Favorite composer is Yoko Kanno.

Don't have a favorite food.

Two other categories, because I think they rate higher than favorite food:

Board games- Dominion, Malifaux, Warmachine

Video games- Anything Bioware. Especially the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. Pokemon (nostalgia keeps calling to me). Super Smash Brothers is always good for a laugh with a group of friends.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Bible
And in no particular order...
Laptop
Friends
Library
Paints and miniatures to paint
Writing Journal, for all my notes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Writing is on the mind a lot lately. Also music, it's a constant companion. And theology.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out for a role playing game. Currently back and forth between Iron Kingdoms by Privateer Press and Through the Breach, by Wyrd Games. Occasionally board game night too, although those are usually Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to scare myself with my own writing sometimes. I blame my villains and a tendency to over research. :p
