I am an active upbeat single dad living in a beautiful housing coop (my dream home for now). A jarring divorce taught me many things about what's important in life and what I need to be happy. I am devoted to my two small children (6 and 9) and also have a crazy work schedule as a stagehand and musician and music teacher. That said, I am interested in making time for solitude and connecting with good friends. Connecting with supportive people is vital in my life.

I am enjoying my job and it's creative and professional challenges. Stagehands are the "artists of invisibility" of the theatre world! Spending more time sitting in control booths as I'm getting a bit old for climbing walls, loading trucks, and crawling around on catwalks, but sometimes I get bored and jump in with the young folks. to fill in the holes I do home maintenance and other odd jobs. I love working with my hands and solving problems in process. I taught myself to weld and hacked old bicycle frames into a custom recumbent that still gets some looks from people as I zoom by. I was able to start playing music again after the separation by starting a string band (I play banjo and mandolin) and joining the house band at the local Unitarian church. I'm rediscovering my passion for music and this ties in with my social justice activism because of the African origins of American music.

People have always noticed how articulate I am. Maybe they notice my shaved head.

I have trouble slowing down enough to read. Make Magazine is a favorite I still buy the occasional comic book though I haven't collected comics in many years. I love John Sayles movies though I don't attend first run movies much. I like all types of music.
I like vegan and live food, which makes dining out difficult even in the Bay area.

My daughters, food and water, a place to create. everything else is really nice but I could do without it and have.
