I am originally from the south side of Chicago but am in Amherst pursuing my education. I am focusing on race and identity within Chicano street gangs for my thesis. I know it may optimistic, but I still believe i believe that through my unique approach, i can offer some change in urban America (one student at a time). Besides gaining knowledge of self i also enjoy traveling, cooking,soul music and R&B. Im also an avid listener and many-many other things. on my hobby side, i love sports both playing and watching them.

Finishing my Bachelors degree in American Studies and sociology... trying to figure out where to take my passions. i figured that as long as my choices take me to a major metropolis, i will be happy. sorry rural America but i am a city slicker.

Im mostly proud of my Listening, cooking and humor skillz. i love smiling and laughing with others. I am most proud at being able to keep a conversation going. I am excellent with my hands and enjoy working with them, which makes me really good at baseball, softball, plumbing and other things hands on activities.

Even though its depressing i spend my time thinking about poverty and urban social issues. Only the poor can understand the shame of poverty. we are truly vanquished; by our world, by our fortune and by time. We are seen as beggars, always in need of charity. To the poor, who have been poor for years-even before our time, our virtues in America had led us to humiliation and shame.
On a lighter note, i spend my weekends thinking about what kind of trouble i can get my self into and the amazing people i can meet along the way.....i study gangs for a reason.

playing it by ear trying to make the best of it

I broke my left ankle playing soccer about three years ago. As a result i have six metal pins and a plate. of course, airport security loves me.
