I absolutely love to be active in the outdoors. I enjoy going hiking in the forest or a walk on the beach almost every day. One of my geekier outdoorsy activities is birdwatching. Send me off with a pair of binos and a bird book and i'm happy for the morning. I have a lovely canine pal and this wonderful pooch is included in as many of my outings as possible. So my car always has dog hair in it.

I am concerned with issues of environmental conservation and the health of our planet. So having a respect and love for our natural world is a quality any future date or mate must share with me. Litter bugs and big suv drivers need not apply

I tend to be a bit left brained, so i am always on the look out for a new creative hobby to help shift me into my right brain once in a while. Hmm maybe another pottery class?

As for my appearance and dress and the way I carry myself, I suppose androgynous would be a good adjective. The butch/femme tags just don't work for me. My friends also describe me as kind and compassionate, funny, witty, loyal, and sensitive with an excellent sense of humor.

I tend to be on the independent side, with the need to do my own thing at times. My job requires that I travel quite a bit so tolerance for frequent absences is a must. Seeing the world and experincing life from another culture's perspective is a gift. My most recent favorite trip was to Kenya, where I went bird (and other critter) watching every morning. Then again that surf trip to Bali, Indonesia in feb was pretty epic too. I long to visit parts of South America again someday and would LOVE to take a significant other along. I might be getting tired of traveling alone. though I do move about the globe with confidence and comfort.

So, that said I really do want to find someone some day who will fit the role of my main side kick and life partner. we'll do so many things togther but be our own people too. Someone who will joke around with me is a must; though i definitely have a serious introspective side as well.

I try to stay positive, work hard, play hard and enjoy what life has to offer. And I really am a kind soul. Sure would love to meet someone who meets my energy, intellectual curiosity sense of adventure and who is also kind and passionate. So shoot me a note if you want to take a hike or some other fun activity.

I think my fav novel to date is Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. As for non-fiction, I've been reading Pema Chodron alot lately. Currently working on When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris.

Movies; I can sit thru just about anything, but don't do lots of movies. I tend to prefer movies that are based on historical fact. though a good thriller is fun too. I also like documentaries about natural wonders and critters, primitive cultures, historical moments, famous dead people and more.

Food: sushi, indian, thai, ethiopian, italian, mexican. Once in awhile I give in to the craving for a local burger, but NEVER fastfood!
