My self-summary
Hello! I'm Eric. I moved to Stamford just about two years ago, to finish up graduate school. In that time, I have made awesome friends, and have had a great time exploring the area. I work full time in Manhattan, commuting is still fun, working with foster kids as a trauma therapist! I am here to meet cool people, and hopefully make a connection that will eventually turn into a long term relationship.

People have described me as a caring, compassionate, and fun person. I have quite a wry and witty sense of humor. I am definitely dedicated to my career, but value the importance of a quality personal life. I believe life is a total adventure, and you gotta keep it interesting!

I enjoy hiking on a beautiful day just as much as I enjoy meeting up with friends for drinks and good conversation. It doesn't really matter what the activity...I just enjoy being real with people I love. I'm excited to be in NYC for work, and hope to explore what the city has to offer! I might need a tour guide though...is that you? ;-)

I am looking for a parter in life who can just as easily have the deepest philosophical conversation about how the world works as saying the stupidest and most corny joke ever invented. I really enjoy guys who are smart and humble, and who really care about others. I love to be active and creative, and would love meeting a guy who would invite me to go running with them or go to a yoga class, go to a play or art show, cooking class or deep sea fishing, or whatever they're interested in. We don't need to have everything in common, but I have enjoyed learning about the world through the passions of others.

At my core, my faith and values are really important to me. I believe they have helped to shape who I am today. I have found an amazing church, and I really enjoy leading several ministries to serve others. I hope to share that in some way with a partner some day.
What I’m doing with my life
I work full-time in Manhattan with foster kids. When I am not working, I'm definitely spending time with friends--catching up on and enjoying life together--or I'm trying to find my center by reading, watching movies, or sitting out on my balcony resting!
I’m really good at
...getting along with a variety of people, and making people know they matter to me. And when that fails...my signature dark-chocolate soufflé is all the rage! The rest...you'll just have to experience for yourself...
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess what people notice is my smile. I love greeting people, and I think people just know I'm going to be friendly and kind to them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite Books: I spend too much time reading research and therapy books for my own good, but I really loved those "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" books when I was younger. Totally failed at not cheating though--not going to lie. My favorite book of all time is The Giver!
Favorite Movies: I'm sorry to say that I'm a sucker for Sci Fi shows and movies, like Star Trek or BSG. My favorite movie, however, is Stranger Than Fiction and the Princess Bride.
Favorite Music: I listen to everything except Country and Rap...nothing wrong with them...I just have never resonated with them.
Favorite Foods: I love food--let's just be honest. When I'm going out, I love to go to places where I know I can't cook that at home--like sushi, Thai, Korean, etc. My favorite meal, since toddler-hood, has been spicy Lasagna! Yum.
The six things I could never do without
Six Things:
(1) My Family--scary to think about life w/o them!
(2) My Friends--such amazing people...
(3) Coffee--just slightly addicted to the stuff!
(4) My Pillow--one of those Tempur-pedic ones--ahhhh :)
(5) Parmesan Cheese--my mouth is watering...
(6) Traveling--I get excited about packing...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...what the next step is for my life!
On a typical Friday night I am
...Usually out with friends! We are either out to eat at our favorite sushi place, seeing what new movie's out, or hanging out at someone's house for fajitas and margaritas night! It's a night to just be myself, with no pressure to perform or produce, with people I love. Friday night can also be a great night in for me as well. It depends if I have been going a million miles an hour for the whole week, and I just need to be still for an evening!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Where's the fun in answering that now? :)

You should message me if
If you might share my values and perspective on life, enjoy a great sense of humor, and appreciate wit and sarcasm. Bonus points will be given if: (1) you enjoy cooking, or at least are willing to try out a cooking class with me; (2) you think drama should be left to the screen or stage; and (3) you believe Princess Bride isn't just for 9 year old girls.
