"When you can't run, you crawl. And when you can't crawl, when you
can't do that ... you find someone to carry you."
When I find something that I feel passionate about, I throw myself
into it. That can lead others to think of me as a workaholic or
being over committed at times, but anything less than my best
effort feels like a let down. I can accept failure, but I can't
accept failing knowing that I held back.
What I’m doing with my life
By day, I am a mild mannered power engineer. Seamlessly blending
creative ideas with the practicality required to ensure that
electricity flows to every house in the United States. You can't
imagining how much people complain when they can't charge their
By night, I transformer into the worlds most extroverted introvert.
This is normally accomplished by going to Old Chicago's or Grimm
Brothers with my friends multiple times a week. I will admit, my
little band is getting rather good at bar trivia.
I’m really good at
I started practicing Tae-Kwon-Do again after a 16 year hiatus. The
biggest challenge was reminding myself that I am no longer a
teenager and can't do everything that I remember doing before I
left. I am still working the last bits of rust off the neurons and
muscles that haven't been used since Clinton was President, but I
am making progress.
The first things people usually notice about me
That my mental age does not match my physical age, except maybe
when you stare into my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite books are anything by Dennis McKiernan and the Dresden
Files series. I do enjoy others, but these were the first ones that
jumped to my mind.
My favorite TV shows include Raising Hope, Eureka (sad that the
show ended), Doctor Who, Shameless, Dexter, and Farscape. If it is
a Sci-Fi show, I am willing to give it a chance.
It is difficult to choose a favorite style of food. While I was an
extremely picky eater as a child (I am pretty sure that you could
count what I would eat on two hands with fingers to spare), my
tastes have grown exponentially. I am willing to try almost
anything, and I tend to like new dishes. Off the top of my head I
tend to eat chili rellenos, yellow curries, spicy tuna rolls, and
medium rare sirloins.
My musical tastes always seem to be a decade or two behind.
The six things I could never do without
Having an in depth debate with my friends over the clatter of bar
noises while enjoying the slightly bitter taste of my Cuthroat
Porter. The peaceful solitude I experience when the suns golden
rays stream into my living room. Reflecting on what I believe my
current purpose in life is, and what I want it to be in the future.
And a steady supply of neon flashes and cheesy dialogue found in
Sci-Fi television shows.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to get seven of my closest friends locked into the Mexico trip
this August. After last year’s Star Wars Disco incident, I think a
couple of the guys are worried about waking up in Guatemala.
On a typical Friday night I am
After shedding the regalia of the working day, I'll head to the
Mayor of Old Town where my friends and I will unwind with a couple
of beers that none of us have tried yet. Before long I am ready for
a good Ruben at the Tap and Handle, possibly followed by an
excursion to the Chocolate Cafe.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That is something that will have to wait for the first date. Why
spoil the surprise.
You should message me if
The type of woman I find attractive tends to be passionate about
self exploration and intellectual development. She knows the
difference between a good Stout and a bad Pilsner and can keep up
during conversations that extend beyond the latest celebrity
scandal. If that sounds like you, send me a message and let’s chat
