My self-summary
One of my coworkers once exclaimed "Oh you're a Capricorn, that means you live a double life." this idea seeming somewhat negative to her, unlike her dual Gemini personality which she enjoys to its fullest.
I think that statement was surprisingly profound. Also, I take what my coworkers say pretty seriously, we tight like that.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach social studies at a local high school.
I’m really good at
Making things awkward in a way that most(though not all) people find charming, rather than just annoying.

Forgetting that I lent people money.

Taking life too seriously, and then laughing it off when I remember the big picture.

Staying relatively aware of current news, and staying ridiculously unaware of sports and pop tv.

Making jokes that my students won't find funny.

Being thankful (inwardly) and forgetting that I have talents.
The first things people usually notice about me
Right now, my hair and painted finger nails, but I assume that will change in the next month or so.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot of books on religion, history and society.
I like taboo subjects and don't necessarily steer away from them in my book/movie interests, which is hard because as a teacher I am expected to be very respectful and prudish.

I really enjoy most movies, I enjoy sitting back and being entertained, but my favorite movies are the ones that blow your mind, or make your heart hurt (in a good or bad way). The kind of movie that makes you cry, or question humanity, or question the universe. oh and stupid comedies.
If you have suggestions feel free to message me.

The last concert I went to was an Ani Difranco show a few months back. I am having a hard time making it to shows lately.

I eat out a lot (was that too much information?) mostly chinese food, and chicken fingers and fries. I have this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_eating_disorder
it doesn't keep me from appreciating the idea of the culinary arts. I enjoy cooking and cooking shows, I just can't eat the outcome.
The six things I could never do without
Have you read/seen The Diving Bell and the Butterfly? (think Johnny Got His Gun, or "One" -only true). The reality I think is that we need food and water to function, but without communication we are nothing.

So now that I have shared that sad idea, I like to draw and write and read and talk a lot. I have been drinking a lot of tea and coffee lately. I also really like to travel so I am hoping my mutant powers of teleportation kick in soon, so I don't have to rely on oil the rest of my life to get places.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a little too much time thinking about board games.
Wishing I had a cat.
Wondering about how people view me.
Trying to figure out how to solve the world's problems, or to just be ok with them and stop trying to control everything... you know the norm.
On a typical Friday night I am
At a movie, coffee shop or chilling with my roommates.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I find this category to be pretty silly... I share everything or nothing...
Here is a fun fact

I am afraid of the dark and I don't understand why everyone else isn't.

-If you have some insight on that quandary (probably not the right use of this word) please drop me a quick essay in the message box.
