Lit'rature:
"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone"
There are so many. Favorite authors of mine include Aldous Huxley, H.P. Lovecraft, Chuck Palahnuik, Georges Bataille, Douglas Adams, George Orwell, Douglas Coupland, and Jim Woodring
I am also currently nursing a perhaps somewhat unhealthy obsession with A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. This is likely only going to become worse in the future. Oops.

Flicks:
If it has a unique style and transcends traditional narrative chances are I am already hooked. Same goes for Unconventional dialogue/plot direction and obscenely stunning cinematography. I am such a freaking huge sucker for experimental films. The directors David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Darren Aronofsky, Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam and Richard Linklater will eternally hold their own little ritual shrines in my heart.
If you have seen any of the following I will probably love the shit out of you.
-The Fall
-Timecrimes
-Waking Life
-The Man from Earth
-Triangle
-Network
-Mr. Nobody
-Slacker

Shows:
The X-Files, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Community, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Look Around You, The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh, Garth Merenghi's Dark Place, The Twilight Zone, The Venture Bros, Moral Orel, Superjail!, Archer, Clone High, The Boondocks, Adventure Time

Choons:
While I typically can extract something enjoyable out of most songs I find myself drawn to bands that have peculiar quirks or dig deep into lyrical theme. Stuff that is poetically grim, sprinkled with surreality, tribally derived or psychedelically driven fascinate the heck out of me. Oh and gypsy and carnival inspired music is downright rad!!
These are the bands I most often stuff into ma earholes:
of Montreal, The Mars Volta, Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar, Beats Antique, Longwalkshortdock, Terranova, Lynx and Janover, Infected Mushroom, Puscifer, Portishead, Sphongle, Younger Brother, Bluetech, Opiuo, Animal Collective, Fever Ray, The Blood Brothers, The Decemberists, The Antlers, Boy and Bear, Gotye, Bright Eyes, Islands, Tool, Sufjan Stevens, The Gorillaz, Metronomy, Iron and Wine, Radiohead
