I get along with everyone, only really get along with the strange,
If bookish means "relatively interested in books," then I am just
plain book. I read and write them, have for awhile. And it is
rumored that it was my first word as a child. "Book."
I think in circles. I play lots of basketball. I would love to meet
a tennis partner, though, granted, that's not all I am looking for.
What I’m doing with my life
I have written novels (one of which is a type of smut), philosophical texts, made movies, traded commodities, traveled all about, been in a band, worked as a south indian cook, and etc. Probably now I am closest to my philosophical self.
( I have currently mastered a salmon dish, which I simmer in olive oil, curry leaf, black mustard seed, brown sugar, salt, fennel seed and garlic. Spice is optional, though preferable.)
I’m really good at
Pinball... I also really like pinball.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am healthy looking, sprightly. Forest animal...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I study philosophy and psychoanalysis, so Freud, Kristeva, Lacan,
Nietzsche, Hegel, Derrida, Butler--I really enjoy them. Also I
write fiction, or study it, so Proust, Duras, I am trying to like
Finnegans Wake right now...sort of working. I like Houellebecq's
stuff. James Patterson can be fun too. I like sci fi/action tv
shows (Buffy, Breaking Bad) most movies, Polanski, I don't know. I
like all this stuff. I was in love with the Flaming Lips once,
really like Future Islands right now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I am currently studying load bearing, because I want to know how
high we can build our world.
I thought a lot about psychosis and this idea of dispossession,
which is what I wrote about. Now I am trying to find some good
books to read in the interim, and end all my bad procrastination
habits. Byebye buffy.
On a typical Friday night I am
Reading or getting a drink/dinner with friends. Cooking with
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a private question: Is foreplay a lost art?
I wrote an essay called "on the use and abuse of cleavage." Because
I wanted to know its history, and I why I can't stop staring. If
anyone is an art historian, I ended up calling it a baroque
technology. You can read this essay here:
You should message me if
You have a backbone and a funny one. I like women who can take
charge, not always but definitely sometimes. Refined, discerning...
