I like things. All kinds of things-- books, music, movies, art, and making things with my hands (not like carpentry or milliner stuff. More like calligraphy, bookbinding, knitting, and clothing stuff). I'm twenty going on twenty four, and I mostly don't like people who act my age. (I know, what insufferable ageism.)

I'm very easy-going. People say that and they don't mean it, but I do; I grew up in California. Very little fazes me. I'm not particularly fond of piña coladas (I don't drink) but I do love getting caught in the rain.

I'm working toward a degree in International Studies with an emphasis in East Asia; I take Chinese and Japanese and I'm pulling into port in fluency in French. After school I plan to teach abroad; the Japanese JET programme seems thus far to be the best organised. I plan to eventually take the Foreign Service Exam and work in a random embassy somewhere while trying to make myself into a full-time novelist.

I'm tall. And very animated (read: a little loud). These days I also have long hair.

I read constantly. Among my current likes:

Movies!
I like movies. I try to watch as many of them as I can, but I don't really have any favourites per se. I consider myself a fan of Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and The Fifth Element.

Music!
I listen to a lot of music; my iTunes library is 23 GB. I'm particularly fond of The Decemberists, Flight of the Conchords, Regina Spektor, Lily Allen and Alanis Morissette, whose name wreaks havoc on spellcheck.

Food!
I much prefer to cook than eat.
