I moved to the Bay Area a few years ago with the intent to put down
roots and thrive. I'm very happy to say that I have! I love my
partners and I love my life.
I'm fully devoted to my son. I'm also devoted to my long-term
committed relationships. I try to see them as equal and of top
importance. I'm legally married, I have a partner whom I've been
with for 9 years and is an LDR, and another I've been with for 7
years who is LDR-ish (125 miles).
I can be classed as liberal, but I have a high respect for
self-reliance and self-responsibility, and a low tolerance for
bullshit. Is it possible to be a traditionalist
Jewish-humanist geek slut?
I am extroverted, quirky, and cute.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Thriving. I've had a number of huge changes over the course of my
life, and I strive to make each one as positive as I can. I am
filling my life with positive, sane, happy people who are driven to
make the world, or at least their world, a better place.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- Making new friends and new loves.
- Being wildly outgoing and the center of attention
- Being a leader
- Making you laugh
- Making you groan at really, really bad puns
- Loving and being a lover

A) I will read anything. I read the back of shampoo bottles in the
shower just to have something to read. My life has been filled with
technical manuals lately, but for fun I have: Hitchhiker's Guide to
the Galaxy series, Harry Potter, history texts, language learning
materials, Brave New World and 1984 (both of which I tend to go
back and read about once every 18 months)
B) Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, The Maltese Falcon,
Casablanca, Seven Year Itch.
C) Duran Duran, Caifanes, Los Enanitos Verdes, Soda Stereo, Manu
Chao, La Oreja de Van Gogh, The Eyeliners, The Lashes, John Mayer,
Die Ärzte, The Pizzicato Five, Seek Irony, Ayfo HaYeled, lots of
opera, lots of variation from all over the world, lots of obscure
indie bands. Wanna get on my good side? Send me something I've
never heard of. Either that or tell me you know better than 50% of
the ones I've named.
D) Sushi, Italian, Chinese, seafood
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Love: Truly the driving force in my life
- Sex: I have an unabashedly high sex drive
- Music: Because limiting your self expression to words is frankly
- Connections: We're here to know each other. If you get to know
me, you could be my friend, you could be more... or you can just
use me for comedic material.
- Conversation: I value hearing the stories of people in my life,
and sharing mine.
- iPhone: Computers not for computing's sake, phones not for the
sake of phoning. They're portals. You're there, I'm here. Now we're
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
- Love: I love love for its own sake
- Friends: There are some for whom I would do anything at
- Emotions: Control them or release them? An elemental question for
- Computers: That's what I do for a living and how I most often
connect with others.
- Problem solving: How best to educate my autistic son, how best to
improve my own life and the lives of the people I love.
- Data: How this site has over time become the de-facto data mine
for human relationships and characteristics thereof.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I use ellipses more often than is strictly grammatically
I make dad jokes. I make dad jokes even around people who aren't my
kids... and people who aren't kids.

I'm choosing to be and talk to people who are in a happy part of
their lives, optimistic, self-reliant, self-responsible, grown up,
who see the world as a good place and don't think the world is out
to get them.
You should message me if you can without reservation sing
"Possession" by Sarah MacLachlan with me. Or Soñaré by La Oreja de
Van Gogh. Or any similarly emotional song you can teach me.
