I am independent yet love being around other people; hard working but easy going; learning and knowledge motivate me, but I do enjoy mindless movies on a regular basis. I am passionate about life in many ways, whether it is helping out people in need, experiencing new things/foods/places/people, or making people laugh.

I have a fond appreciation for art and works of the hand. At one time I was able to draw with some skill, make things from clay, and other materials. Then I graduated from nursery school. No, seriously, I am a little crafty in those ways. I took a charcoal drawing class last year and really enjoyed getting myself back into that fold.

I like to build things. I'm a gadget geek, too. Those things combined are a little... dangerous. I built an upright arcade machine from scratch a few years ago that plays about 2000 games, including all the classics. I love the feelings of nostalgia it brings back, plus it is kind of cool that it worked on the first try. Everyone that tries it wants me to make one for them (fat chance, suckas)!

I love animals, and I own a cat. From her perspective, she has a place to live, food and drink every day, her own condo where I am not allowed entry, and a fresh place to poop when she needs it. I don't think she's ever written a check in her life. She speaks English, but chooses not to. She gets whatever she wants by staring at me and mewing. OK, so maybe she owns me.

I am witty, giving of myself, and curious about life

I work full time in technology and also run my own business. I have also started a record label for rock music, which has been a fun, interesting and humbling learning experience all at the same time. I've recently started a deep investigation into my own genealogy; probably driven by equal parts of love of family and love of history in general.

I also have an entrepreneurial spirit, so I've always got some half baked idea rattling around in my head. If you have baking skills, this might help.

Eating over the sink. Playing Boggle (I'll let you win once in a while, maybe). Doing anything with the computer. Solving problems and puzzles. Helping people who need it. Working the system.

I'm friendly with just about everyone! I like to smile and laugh, and I'm usually cracking jokes right away. Although I guess this is really what I hope people first notice, since I've never actually asked.

For fiction, Clive Cussler is my favorite author -- he writes action/adventure stories which all have a historical shipwreck at their centerpiece. It annoys me that every time they have tried to make his books into movies they haven't turned out so well, but it just proves that the book IS always better. :) I've also read several books by Tom Clancy, Nelson DeMille, Stephen Coonts, and Craig Thomas, to name a few. I also read non-fiction on a broad range of topics like math, money matters, history, computing, science, etc.

My favorite movies are GoodFellas, Usual Suspects, Caddyshack, Spies Like Us, Fifth Element, Princess Bride, just for starters!

For musical taste, I am mostly into rock n' roll, raging from the hard to not so hard. I like Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, and many more. I also like 80s music, probably because of nostalgia, but what can I say? Also, I like some old school rap like the old Beastie Boys, Young MC, etc.

I will eat almost any food. I love trying new restaurants. I especially like spicy food! I'll try anything once, will you?
