My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Anne. I'm sarcastic, Italian, enthusiastic, fiercely loyal, and I have the market cornered on cute. If I have a couple drinks you might hear a bit of a southern drawl. I love making my friends laugh, especially by telling them about the absurdities of my life.
I rarely do anything by half measures. I ran my first 10K because the idea scared the hell out of me... and it was exhilarating, so now I'm building toward 13.1. Most of the great things I've done in my life were things that freaked me out, and that's why I did them. How else do you know what you're capable of?
I have a degree in French because language has always fascinated me. I have a list of at least four or five more languages I want to learn, and one of my own invention waiting to be written. If you give me half a chance and look the least bit interested, I will talk your ear off about it because I'm a huge nerd. :)
I'm pretty happy watching almost any sport (and playing more than a few of them) as long as I'm doing it with people I like. I also get super into it and competitive... I have been known to yell at the TV during football games. In school I lost my voice more than once cheering on our team.
Also, I am a water balloon tossing champion. I have a trophy to prove it. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in administration at a hospital, and I absolutely love my job. I get to boss doctors around. ;)
I love to run, and I'm getting fairly good at yoga. Periodically I'll find some class I'm interested in and take it just because; past examples include piano and drawing. I'm trying really hard to find a book club that isn't pretentious to the point of insanity and/or reading the most depressing books in existence because apparently real literature is not allowed to be happy/intriguing/scifi or fantasy. I may have some strong opinions on that point.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, cooking/baking yummy things, reading in moving vehicles, board/card games, reckless disregard for my personal safety while playing volleyball... I don't know, there's lots of things I'm good at. There should really be a section called "I'm really bad at" so I could say: walking on perfectly flat surfaces (ironically, running on a rocky path is not a problem), remembering birthdays without the aid of Facebook, and sporks. I've just learned to avoid them altogether.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile. Seriously, guys, don't send me a message that says nothing but "cute smile." I've heard it once or twice before...

Yeah, there's no way I can answer this question completely. Books that regularly make my top ten: The Night Circus, the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, Timeline, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, nearly anything by Sharon Shinn, the Red Tent... There are also a bunch of classics that I love, but I read those less often. I recently decided to read through the Harry Potter series again just for fun, in between other books. Yes, I am one of those people who rereads books dozens of times. Deal with it. :)
Movies: I don't like horror or super gory stuff, but anything else is basically fair game... The Bourne movies, Die Hard, A Good Year, Pirates, Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day, Star Trek, V for Vendetta, How to Train your Dragon, My Cousin Vinny, The American President, Tangled, Moonstruck, Renaissance Man, the Italian Job, The Count of Monte Cristo...
TV: The Newsroom, West Wing, various iterations of Star Trek and Stargate, Leverage, Project Runway (my guilty pleasure). Game of Thrones.
Music: Far too varied to definitively classify. But when I hear a song I like, I'll buy it and then obsessively listen to it for days on end. My last few purchases have included Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, and Daughtry.
Food: Yes. I like it. All of it. :)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Well, assuming the requisite answers of family, friends, and basic survival needs....
Post-it Notes
A challenge
Running shoes
Chocolate milk
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The fictitious worlds I'm either currently reading about, watching, or want to create.
Linguistic trivia. Or trivia in general.
What graduate degree I should go for. What race I should sign up for.
Who on earth would possibly have the patience to read this far down in my profile. ;)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes out, sometimes in, usually involving a yummy beverage (unless the "out" happens to be running or yoga...).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I put on music and dance around the house when no one's home. :)
