I didn't want to delete my profile altogether- I like the quizzes, and also didn't want to jinx myself when my relationship was new. On the off chance that I meet anyone cool on here who lives near me, I'd consider hanging out as friends. However, I am 100% TAKEN right now. Thanks for understanding. :)

I travel a lot, and worked at a school in a prison from Oct. '06 to June '09- left my job in preparation for my move to the UK. I pretty much never run out of stories at parties due to these things... I have a sharp sense of humor and love to laugh...I can remember lines from movies, but I often forget jokes (so you can tell me the same ones more than once), and I don't mind looking silly in public. I am vaguely cynical, yet I still give people the benefit of the doubt, and secretly like happy endings. I'm 97% my own Friend. Really, what's not to love?

Just moved to the UK to live with my fiance.

-making up my own recipes and cooking them (though I still totally need instructions for anything involving baking)

-surprising people with thoughtful gifts, even little silly ones

-karaoke, and i no longer need to be drinking to lose the inhibitions in this arena (only happens once a year or so, but when it does, look out!)

-reading maps (I love maps...though I guess only other people who love maps truly understand this)

-giving back massages

-photography...if I do say so myself...

-making my friends laugh with ridiculous non-sequiturs, lines from our favorite movies, and general bon mots/witty repartee

There are too many things that I like to make a coherent list!

I mostly read fiction, but also travel magazines and books, and occasionally other stuff...

I enjoy clever movies that make me laugh; suspense movies that make me think; creepy, surreal, and/or foreign movies that are beautiful. Filmmakers I like include Tim Burton, Guillermo del Toro, the Coen brothers, John Waters, Sergio Rubini, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Terry Gilliam, Jim Jarmusch...but that hardly scratches the surface. I can watch classic and high-brow stuff, from Fritz Lang to Nanni Moretti, as happily as I can enjoy "Zoolander", "Shaun of the Dead," "Sixteen Candles," and "X-Men 2." See what I mean? It's hard to be coherent about this.

My musical taste is equally hard to pin down. Feel free to ask for elaboration on that if the suspense is killing you...I had a whole explanation in here but decided my profile was getting too wordy.

My taste in food is also about as wide-ranging as my taste in music or movies. I love spicy food, and sweets too. I enjoy exploring new neighborhoods in search of a good (especially inexpensive!) place to eat. I love most different kinds of food, and I like to cook, too.

You live in the area and want a new buddy for local activities, ON A FRIEND BASIS ONLY. As mentioned above, I am in a committed relationship. However, my criteria for friends is not so different from what I had originally posted in this section, so I'm leaving it mostly as is.
