I am easy, breezy, and beautiful.

My Self-Summary

I care about a lot of things. Sushi. Social justice. Paul Thomas Anderson movies. The band Built to Spill. Malbec wine. I speak Spanish. I'd like to live on the west coast one day. And have a garden. But not some pretty flower garden, one that grows tasty vegetables. I laugh a lot, and think it's lame when other people think that's lame.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently, I'm working in nonprofit fundraising at an organization in Manhattan, doing grant writing and other such things. In the fall, I'm going to graduate school for social work here in the city. I live in Williamsburg with two roommates in an apartment building designed for a subdivision in Miami, but the developers ran out of money so they built it on a vacant lot here in Brooklyn. Yes, the exterior really is an awful pink brick. My friends are opening a restaurant around the corner, and I will probably work there when I go to school in the fall. One day, maybe I'll become a spinning instructor. Or a chef. Or a law professor. Or a housewife!

I’m really good at

Cooking! I make a mean buckwheat banana pancake.

And grant writing, I guess, though that's not nearly as sexy.

The first things people usually notice about me

Oh god. I have no idea. Doesn't that depend on what they're looking for? Well, if I'm singing karaoke, then the first thing they notice about me is that I can't sing. And if I'm trying to charm them, it's that I'm really, really charming. But other than that I don't really know.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My favorite book is 100 Years of Solitude. I like a lot of different movies and music and food. The new yeah yeah yeahs is pretty rad. The most played song on my itunes is "crazy on you" by heart, followed by bright eyes "lover i dont have to love," followed by rilo kiley's "does he love you." then "disturbia" clocks in at number four.

and there we have it.

The six things I could never do without

1. The blue ridge mountains. They are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
2. Those youtube videos of Whitney Houston performing live in Brunei.
3. Spinning. It's the nerdiest part of my life. But good lord do I love it.
4. The L train. Unless I learned how to walk on water. Being permanently marooned in Williamsburg is one of the most unpleasant thoughts ever.
5. My six-year-old sister.
6. Sex. Just sayin'.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what i'm going to have for dinner. Seriously. And also about how it's possible to love your family and still acknowledge the ways they fucked you up.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home. But I ROCK on Saturdays...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Ha! How about number two on the list of the six things I could never do without?

You should message me if

You should message me. There's always that little rush when those messages pop up, isn't there? Or maybe I just haven't done enough online dating for the rush to go away yet.
