I am creative, caring, and intelligent.

My Self-Summary

Finding the proper words to describe myself is quite a daunting task. But here goes.

I'm outgoing online and somewhat shy offline. I am not really religious; as long as you're a generally good person I'm happy, regardless of your faith. I'm a very patient, understanding, and loyal person.

I'm a geek, in a good way. I find intelligence, creativity, and quirkiness very sexy.

I love creativity in all forms, from music to movies to art. I enjoy art exhibits and concerts, movies and live readings. I love the passion and emotion that art displays.

I like horror and thriller movies, comedy and some drama. Not a big fan of westerns, though I've seen a few good ones. I usually dislike intensely stupid movies. Sci-Fi and Fantasy can be fun, but they can also be ridiculous. (That doesn't mean I love them any less.)

I've got a well-developed sense of humor (which, upon occasion, tends to be a little punny and slightly lame). Nobody should take life too seriusly too much of the time.

I prefer smaller groups of friends over large groups of acquaintances. I would rather have one best friend I can count on than a bunch of casual friends that will leave when the going gets rough.

I enjoy camping and the outdoors, hiking, swimming, and climbing. I also enjoy curling up inside and reading, playing board games or having deep conversations about ridiculous topics.

I've got a weak spot for stupid low-budget movies ("Attack of the 50-Foot Woman" and "Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter" come to mind.) I'm a geek at heart, definitely into technology and computers, but not so much that it makes me socially inept. I'm not a gamer, but I do enjoy games.

I'm opinionated but open-minded, and I'm not afraid to revise my opinions if I'm presented a decent, logical explanation for why they are wrong (or how they can improve).

I'm logical in many ways, but sometimes absentminded (not in a bad way).

I love writing and enjoy creative challenges.

I enjoy playing some sports, but I'm not big on watching them on the TV. In fact, I don't really watch TV at all... It's a waste of time, IMHO. The few shows I enjoy I can watch online.

I appreciate intelligence and kindness in a person. Those are two of my most important qualifications for a suitor.

I'd much rather have a sometimes chaotic and quirky life than live a life of tedium and predictability.

Umm.... I guess that about sums it up. I'm a pretty laid back guy, easy to please and easy to get along with.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently I work a steady job with great benefits. I'm going to be starting college again soon, in the hopes of becoming a Creative Writing, English, and Software Engineering teacher in high school. I love creativity, and I would be honored to inspire future generations to think creatively.

I’m really good at

I'm a pretty good writer, an OK artist, and I am very good with technology, especially computers. I'm pretty good at giving reliable advice, but I don't always listen to myself when I'm giving it. (Character flaw.) I love to sing, though I don't think I'm very good at it. (People sometimes tell me otherwise, but I think they're just being nice.)

I'm really good at seeing the brighter side of life and keeping a positive outlook, and I do my best to pass that along to others.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, I think. I mean, it's usually the first thing I notice about everyone else. I've been told my laugh and my smile are infectious.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The six things I could never do without

1. Family
2. Friends
3. Love
4. Good Music
5. Good Books
6. Goals

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about all kinds of random crap. But, namely:

Technology
Writing
Music
Love and Relationships
Family and Friends
Philosophy
"I wonder how (insert concept here) works..."
"I wonder how I could improve (insert method here)..."
Sexuality (I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it.)
Various random topics.

On a typical Friday night I am

Reading a book, or (if I'm lucky) spending a night out with my friends. I don't get to go out often, so I take any opportunity I get. Writing, when I have the opportunity and inspiration. And if I've had a long day at work... sleeping.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I love romantic comedies. Action and suspense are nice, but sometimes you just need to relax and fall in love.

You should message me if

you're interested in getting to know me! I'm happy to make new friends, even if they don't become romantic partners, so don't worry about being pressured. I like things to develop naturally.
