I am a kind-hearted, open-minded person, down-to-earth without
being jaded, hip without being a hipster, discriminating but not
pretentious, charming but not smarmy, funny but not frivolous.
Hoping to meet someone who likes all things good: good food, good

through humor, like to think and talk, and appreciate a game of
backgammon over, say, a nice scotch, we'll get along fine.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a bipolar music historian (a bit less faux-sciencey than

The first things people usually notice about me
My calming demeanor. Later...my wicked sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Not a big TV guy, but...Six Feet Under, The Wire, and Arrested
Development were brilliant (I'm agnostic on the new version of the

I tend more to non-fiction than fiction. I like documentaries and
I'm much more inclined toward savory than sweet--Banh Mi
sandwiches, burritos, chicken pot pie, Pok Pok wings are comfort
foods--but I have an appreciation both for dives and a high end
restaurant with excellent service.
Music...don't get me started. A bit old school, but impeccable
taste. I'm especially partial to 1960s and 70s soul and funk.
The six things I could never do without
Books, LPs, a quality burrito, a coffee shop with good ambiance,
intelligent conversation, a sense of humor, learning, listening to
baseball on the radio, big cities.

Let me think about it and get back to you.
