I am optimistic, inquisitive, and analytical.

My Self-Summary

I'm not originally from New York, but I've been here for a few years now, so I would consider myself more of a New Yorker than anything else at this point (even though I may never catch up to native New Yorkers in authenticity). My favorite time of year is the beginning of spring (real spring, not the 40-degree dreariness that continues for weeks after March 21) because I get to walk home from work through beautiful Central Park, which I like to think of as my own personal backyard.

What I’m doing with my life

I teach high school math, which allows me to indulge my inner math geek professionally.

I’m really good at

math, grammar, piano, remembering names, Spanish, looking things up on the Internet, talking politics, board games.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - The Shadow of the Wind, Freakonomics, Middlesex
Newspapers - New York Times, Washington Post
Magazine - The New Yorker
Movies - Milk, The Visitor, The American President
TV Shows - West Wing, 30 Rock, The Office
Music - Ella Fitzgerald, Kevin Johansen, Julieta Venegas, Brahms, Beethoven, Stephen Sondheim, Dar Williams, Avett Brothers
Food - Mexican, Japanese, french fries, anything with avocados

I spend a lot of time thinking about

where my next international trip will be.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My room is a mess, but I can find anything I want at any time.

You should message me if

you work for Google, the New York Times, or Barack Obama. Or, if your life has been improved by any of the three.
