My self-summary
I grew up in the DC area but have lived in New York since graduating from college. I’m lucky to have a job I love and great friends who (mostly) all live in the city as well.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach high school math, which means that my days are spent planning lessons, grading papers, and making sure that the next generation is awesome at solving quadratic equations.

My nights and weekends, on the other hand, are spent enjoying this amazing city with friends, often in pursuit of delicious food.

I have also recently started running more seriously (i.e. more than once every couple months). Training for my first half marathon in May - wish me luck!
I’m really good at
piano, skiing, baking, grammar, looking things up on the Internet, remembering people’s names, spending too much money at the farmers' market
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - The Shadow of the Wind, Where'd You Go Bernadette, Middlesex
Newspapers - New York Times, Washington Post
Magazines - The New Yorker, The Atlantic
Movies - When Harry Met Sally, The American President, Lives of Others, The Visitor, Waitress, Princess Bride, Her
TV Shows - West Wing, Mad Men, The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Daily Show, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, The Office
Music - Ella Fitzgerald, Brahms, Stephen Sondheim, Lumineers, Avett Brothers, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel
Food - avocados, fruit, chocolate, goat cheese, french fries
Games - Celebrity, Bananagrams, Boggle, Settlers of Catan
The six things I could never do without
1. iPhone
2. Trader Joe's
3. passport
4. sneakers that can pass as professional shoes
5. immersion blender (newly purchased! soups all the time!)
6. I'm just going to put all the actual important stuff in as #6 - friends, family, job, apartment (is that cheating?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
where my next international trip will be.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have been known to discover a tv show after it's already been on for several seasons and then catch up on all of the seasons I've missed by watching nonstop for a few days. Damn you, Netflix Instant.
I’m looking for

  • Ages 27–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you have a strong opinion about the best pizza, Mexican food, or cookie in the city.
