Music: My musical tastes are continually changing and evolving. I
told myself I wasn't going to make a long pretentious list but at
this moment I'm tired and it's just easier so here it goes:
Radiohead, Mars Volta, Elliott Smith, Ty Segall, Kurt Vile, Cymbals
Eat Guitars, Modest Mouse, Railroad Earth, Trampled by Turtles,
Plants and Animals, Crystal Castles, The Strokes, Outkast, The
Roots, Japandoids, Future Islands, Grizzly Bear, The New
Mastersounds, Tuneyards, TV on the Radio, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah,
Rural Alberta Advantage, Anything Jack White related, anything Jeff
Mangum related, White Denim, Beach House, Beirut, Band of Horses,
Dinosaur Jr., Dirty Projectors, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, This Town
Needs Guns, Bon Iver, City and Colour, The Kinks, Spiritualized,
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Toumani Diabate, Yeasayer, Bela Fleck,
I like going to good local shows at dive bars. I have a record
player and am getting into vinyl more. I really like anything real
and archetypal from old folk songs, jazz, bluegrass, country from
the American heyday to bootleg new wave post punk recordings from
Books: I'm just now getting back into reading more again. In the
past I've enjoyed Murakami, Oscar Wilde, Nick Hornby, Bukowski, and
others, but I'm really trying to expose myself to some new
literature and non-fiction. Any suggestions?
Lately I've been reading a lot of native, edible, botanic field
guides, gardening books, landscape design textbooks and
permaculture books which I am currently devouring to help possibly
inspire me towards a new career or at least my own hobbies.
Food: All of it! Except Mayonnaise. Buford Highway anybody??
TV/Movies: Not a movie buff. I'm probably not going to get most of
your tv/movie references, sorry. I do enjoy Breaking Bad, Archer,
Game of Thrones, The Wire, Misfits, Workaholics, Boardwalk empire,
etc. as well as some good documentaries.
