I am motivated, active, and easily humored.
My Self-Summary
Originally I'm from NJ and went to University of Florida as an
undergrad. Go Gators! I lived in Florida for 4 years during which I
learned to scuba dive and became a certified Master Diver. If
anyone wants a professional tour to the depths of the Potomac let
me know :P
Last year I moved to DC for grad school and absolutely love living
here. I'm working on a Master's as a Physician Assistant (for those
of you who are unfamiliar with what PA's are:
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos081.htm) Sadly school has been taking up
a lot of my time but I graduate August 2010, at which time I feel I
may actually become an adult.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm on the clinical segment of my program, which means I
rotate through different kinds of medicine and hospitals in DC
basically every month. Last month was surgery, and for my last case
of the rotation I was the primary surgeon for an above the knee
amputation. I think I may churn a few stomachs with that, but it
was definitely one of the coolest things I've done so far for
school.
I don't take myself too seriously and appreciate when people can
laugh at themselves. As much as I love a night out on the town for
a few drinks, I'm just as happy staying in with some friends and a
glass (or two) of wine.
Every week I run a couple days with my roommate and a few friends.
We just completed our 5th Marine Corps Marathon! I would never call
myself a great athlete, I will never win any professional races,
but I do love to run. I don't think everyone should look like
supermodels, but everyone should exercise in some way to stay
healthy.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Lately if I'm not reading something medically related for school I
don't want to think too hard, so I read a lot of chick lit. I would
like to say I read more thought provoking material, but it's just
not true. Have a burning desire to read Cecil's Essentials of
Medicine? I'm your gal.
I haven't seen a lot of movies lately, and can't even remember the
last one I saw. But as for TV, I just can't get enough of the
Biggest Loser or the Office. I also have a new found love for Glee,
which is an absolutely ridiculous show. Haven't seen it? You
should.
The six things I could never do without
my running shoes
chocolate milk
my iphone (i hate that, but it's true)
my super comfy bed
my closest friends
clean laundry? my sonicare toothbrush? I can't really come up with
a good 6th one here.
On a typical Friday night I am
My typical Friday night recently has involved 15-20 people, wine
and beer, and rock band. Yes, hanging out with a bunch of medical
people will bring out the dorkiness in me. :)
Otherwise it can really range. I have no set thing I have to do on
weekends. Occasionally I go out both nights, other times I lie
around watching movies. It just depends on the weekend.
You should message me if
you have any questions or want to meet up. I'm terrible at thinking
of things to say about myself and just find this whole process a
little awkward! I've never done the whole online dating thing, but
a couple of my friends have had success with this site, so I
figured why not.
PS - I am aware that the little award thing my buddy sent me is a
bit cheezy, but I figured it didn't hurt to show that at least one
person will back that I just might be a good catch :P
