My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a dog, affectionate and companionable, costumed in-human form. Once befriended, my loyalty is next to limitless. Kick me again and again and I will love you. Kick me one too many times and I will bite and retreat in self-defense, but I will still love you.

I am a cat, cloaked in human skin, perceptive, sensual and aloof. I require touch like I need air to breathe; I require room to grow and freedom to roam, but treat me with kindness and respect and I will always return to you.

My name is ember. I am as old as my tongue and considerably well-travelled for my age. My friends and family might describe me as eccentric, funny, generous, honest and straightforward. They would not describe me as excitable, impressionable, ambitious or outgoing.

I am genderqueer rather than female-identified — please join me in petitioning the OKCupid staff to add non-binary and a- gender options to the 'basic information' header. I typically feel more feminine than masculine and have been on male-to-female hormone replacement since the beginning of July.

Though I think of myself as pansexual, I tend to prefer men for sexual partnerships. Do not hesitate, however, to message me if you are not male-identified — having a general preference does not mean that I can't be just as happy and satisfied with a partner who does not fit that preference as I can with one who does. I'm open to making new friends and dating, long-term or otherwise, individuals of all sexes and gender identities. I am not interested in men or women who identify strictly as gay or straight as potential partners.

My interests include travel, bicycling, camping, hiking and exploring wooded areas, reading out loud (to anyone who will listen) and playing and teaching Go, an ancient Chinese board game which is more popular in China, Japan and Korea than in the West. I would like to meet people with whom I can share any or all of these activities.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
During the past two months (August and September), I lived and travelled in an RV with a close friend and lover. It was a remarkably difficult affair, given the propensity of our respective neuroses to clash with one anothers'. He and I are no longer together, and I wouldn't wish to travel with him again, but apart from the interpersonal difficulties, it was a very positive experience on the whole.

At present I am living with family in Houston while endeavoring to accumulate enough fiat printer paper to purchase a motorhome or residential trailer of my own as well as enough gas to have the option of mobility for at least several months, after which I will return to my low-consumption lifestyle of adventuring between organic farms and intentional communities.

I'd very much like to find a companion to accompany me (children and/or pets welcome) before then inasmuch as a life of itinerancy tends to become dreadfully lonely, and both of my partners are busy with schule at this juncture and have no interest in dropping what they're doing to follow me around the country without a concrete itinerary.

Otherwise I focus my attention on the moment and spend my days trying not to get fooled into thinking that what I am's not enough.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
• reading out loud (Please let me read to you.)
• making mixtapes for friends and acquaintances
• making amigurumi dolls without having learned to read patterns (If you can beat me at Scrabble or Words With Friends, I'll make you one.)
