My self-summary Propose an edit

Update: I met someone I'm really into, so I probably won't be active on here while I see whether that works out. So don't be offended if I don't respond to messages...it's nothing personal.

I'm a recent graduate of Reed College and work as a research assistant in a lab. Eventually I plan to go back to school and get a higher degree--probably an MD. Dancing Argentine tango is one of my favorite things to do. I also love to cook, read books, enjoy the outdoors, etc.

I get lots of comments on my eyes. An ex claimed he was attracted by my "intense gaze" before we'd even really met.

Some people apparently think I look sad; occasionally strangers on the street comment on it and/or do silly things to get me to smile. I smile easily.

When we first meet I may or may not be quiet. Once you get to know me, I can be quite talkative.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

BOOKS: Some favorite authors include Milan Kundera, Paolo Coelho, Barbara Kingsolver, John Steinbeck (especially East of Eden), Charlotte Bronte, and Michael Pollan.

MUSIC: In no particular order I like: Old Crow Medicine Show, The Beatles, Gillian Welch, Sublime, Jack Johnson, Cat Stevens, Yann Tiersen, Ani Difranco, Dave Brubeck, Medeski Martin and Wood, Radiohead, and many many others. When in a group I usually let other people choose what music to put on.

FOOD: Mostly locally farmed and in season. I used to be vegetarian/pescatarian (10+ years), and still rarely eat meat. That said, I'm an adventurous eater and will try pretty much anything. It's all about variety!
