I am caring, easily confused, and simply wizard.

My Self-Summary

I'm a fairly laid-back person who’s up for new adventures, even if it's just a stroll in a previously undiscovered park or a drink in a new pub. I'm also easy-going and try not to take life too seriously, or I feel it can cease to be life at all.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently fitting in writing my profile in between filling out application forms and watching Trisha. In other words I'm unemployed, or 'between jobs' as I'd prefer to term it.

I also spend a lot of time day dreaming about holidays and night dreaming about uncannily boring and realistic happenings.

I'm technically a social housing development professional; i.e. putting homeless people in the nicest houses possible.

I’m really good at

In addition to sleeping and planning trips abroad (real or imaginary), I’ve been told that I'm a good listener and can cheer people up.

Sometimes I do this by falling over - it's a speciality of mine whether drunk or sober. But for people who aren't so into physical comedy I focus on providing tea, wine, pastry goods and hugs. I find that the pub and/ or a good game of Pictionary solves most problems.

I also attempt to write historical romance novels - but whether I'm actually good at this is deeply suspect.

The first things people usually notice about me

I looked in the mirror to investigate this one. Initially it made me look quizzical and then start laughing at myself. So I reckon I probably look like a grinning idiot.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Despite enjoying writing romance I don't actually enjoy reading it - so as a career choice this may be flawed. My favourite authors are probably John Fowles and Mikhail Bulgakov, although I'm going through an 18th century gothic horror stage at the moment. However I'll read pretty much anything that's put in front of me, and have read pretty much all the classics in the 'Wordsworth Classics' range of £1 novels and like spending time in the Oxfam bookshop - even though it usually smells of wee.

I don't go to the cinema as much as I ought, but I'm a huge fan of David Lynch, anything else I can't understand, and John Hughes. I also, rather pathetically, know the entire script of Whitnail and I of by heart.

My music tastes are in constant flux. But I'm currently listening to a lot of Seabear, Death Cab for Cutie, Ladytron, Belle and Sebastian and Hot Chip.

My favourite food is usually that made by other people. Although I'm a reasonable cook and love entertaining. I really like middle eastern and north African food.

The six things I could never do without

my friends and family (cat included)
owls
tea
holidays
books
lie-ins

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The fact that I should stop thinking and start doing.

This then leads to considering what I should be doing and in which order, where I should do these things, when and the necessary footwear in which to do them. Then I feel a little tired and go for a nap.

I sometimes tell myself stories, however they're often quite dull (especially as I generally already know the ending) and then I get sleepy.

On a typical Friday night I am

Usually either in the pub or round at a friends house eating their food.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My cat and I act out plays together. Unfortunately he can't read YET, so I have to do most of the work. We generally read Oscar Wilde, although he prefers tragedies, and makes a splendid Lady Macbeth.

You should message me if

If you don't find me scary - because I'm not; and you do so without using text speak (especially LOL), and don't over-use/ abuse exclamation marks.
