My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a transplant from Providence who just moved to Philly. I like exploring new places, cooking, wandering and reading most things.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just embarking on what might be a long stint in graduate school, focusing on education. In past lives I've been a toddler/preschooler entertainer, an adult ESOL teacher and an aspiring rock star/cartoonist. All of varying degrees.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
helping kids tie their shoes, making risotto and polenta, counting by tens, Cartman/Creed impressions, finding lucky pennies.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Recently I've been reading too many textbooks. But in normal life I love reading any and all comics. Highlights include: Watchmen, The Sandman Chronicles and anything by Lynda Barry or Shel Silverstein. I also have a recent affection for George Saunders - I'm so late to the party I know. And Junot Díaz.

Music of late includes Michael Kiwanuka, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Nina Simone, The National, CHVRCHES and things I can dance to.

Moving pictures have recently been anything with Marcello Mastrioanni or alien/scary/sci fi related that I can find on the Netflix/at my library. Specifically X-Files and Battlestar Galactica. I like to watch things about 2 - 10 years after everyone else does. Just long enough to pretend I'm anti, then I follow the crowd.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my library card
jigsaw puzzles
my glasses
a box of crayons/pens/markers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
power hierarchies, what would Scully do, how to count 7/4 time, what the world will be like in 300 years.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
hopefully watching a scary movie with people and eating something delicious. Or dancing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I eat Kraft macaroni and cheese more than I'd like to admit.

You like to talk, or eat or investigate paranormal phenomena. Also, I'm trying to learn how to cook bacon properly so it's crispy and fatty. Any help is appreciated.
