My self-summary
I'm not really sure I can summarise my personality, because its always changing anyway, so I'll just list the basic stuff: I'm Australian/Italian with two passports to match, grew up in Sydney but moved to London two years ago, come from a big and close family but we never had any pets, love big cities and urban life but also don't mind going bush from time to time, preferably with an akubra hat, a fishing rod and an off-road ute. Actually, at the moment I'm quite keen to drive around Iceland and/or the states.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an architect by profession, but now I live in Zurich studying a phd in architectural history. In London I studied history of art and architecture, taught history of architecture to first year architecture students and worked full time in an architecture studio. Now I work on a dead Prussian architect from the nineteenth century, and I'm having to learn crash-course German to do it. Woop! Other than work the things I'm doing are traveling as much as possible and trying to visit friends in different parts of the world, having beers with friends, cooking and eating good food, riding my bike, reading, living inside a 'smart phone' (sadly), y'know, just stuff.
I’m really good at
Remembering song lyrics. To any song. Even the bad ones.
The first things people usually notice about me
Umm... my height? I'm tall-ish for a girl.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am listening to a lot of Silver jews, the magnetic fields, bill callahan and the go-betweens at the moment. Next month I'll probably be listening to something else. At the moment I'm liking a friend's west african music mix. I've got a thing for obscure Australian bands from the early nineties. Shows... er, Seinfeld? Does it get any better than that? And for the Brits: 'Nighty Night': genius that makes you squirm.
I find it hard to sit through movies all the way ( I get fidgety) but the last one I really liked was Moonrise Kingdom. In fact, I like most Wes Anderson films, and Pedro Almodovar films.
Books - non-fiction wise, anything by Le Corbusier, Walter Benjamin, Robin Evans, and the short essays by Reyner Banham and Colin Rowe. 'London: a Life in Maps'. Fiction? Raymond Carver. Yup, mainly Raymond Carver right now. And Italo Calvino (all-timer)
Food... well, eating is great. And cooking. And going out to eat. And eating at home when my flatmates cook. Going to markets and buying good produce. I like good cheese and sausage and olives. I like freshly grilled fish and steak on our barbeque. I'm not vegetarian but I pay close attention to where my meat comes from. I will try most things at least once and love trying new types of food. Yeah, I guess food is really important to me and I structure a lot of my life around it!
The six things I could never do without
well, the obvious stuff I guess? Friends, family, my bike, my work, my health, my mind. Probably shouldn't have slotted 'my bike' in there. It's not really on par with the others... is it?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
fictional scenarios created in my head featuring people I both know and don't know. They often turn melodramatic a la 'The Bold and the Beautiful'. I'm a chronic daydreamer and it always turns hollywood - in technicolour.
On a typical Friday night I am
out having some beers with some friends, or home cooking dinner with the flatmates. Occasionally dancing like a fool at trashy drag dress-up nights with glitter all over my face.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Is quite tame: I sometimes pick my nose on public transport then realise what I am doing and hope that no-one saw. The most private stuff I wouldn't be splashing all over here.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
There are few topics of conversation off limits for you, whether normally considered 'highbrow' or 'lowbrow'. You like bike riding and exploring London (unless you grew up here in which case I guess you know it pretty well already). You have a really good sense of humour, like to laugh and like to make other people laugh. You dislike forced group activities but love spontaneous friend-group activities. You are passionate about what you do for a job or study. You like meeting new people, travel and trying new and different foods. You are interested in art and architecture and cities and how they work. You like going to see music. You like maps. You like fanging through the bush in off-road utes, or if you have never done this, may possibly be interested in doing it in the future...
Hold on this is unfairly specific. Maybe just if you are interested enough to want to educate me about what you like.
