My Self-Summary

Hi! I'm on semi-haitus from this site for a while, like seriously half-assing it. So please don't it in any way personally if you don't hear from me. I'm trying to gather up the energy to meet strangers from the internet in the real world. Wish me luck.

East coaster originally, been in San Francisco long enough (10+ years) to be REALLY into yoga (I did a teacher training program last fall) and local produce (cherry tomatos and stone fruit right now? I mean come on). I work as a copywriter for a furniture retailer now, used to work for a guitar magazine--so I'm savvy when it comes to wordsmithing (but please don't let that intimidate you...).

What I’m doing with my life

Writing copy. Doing tons of yoga. Contemplating my next move.

I’m really good at

Oh gosh, let's see. In no particular order: proofreading, being punctual, hanumanasana, sleeping until noon if given the chance, listening, dining out, talking about produce, giving my opinion, lounging. I'm great at lounging actually. I'm SOMETIMES really good at the Times Sunday puzzle. Sometimes not so much.

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes? My slightly sarcastic wit? My butt? That my hair's a mess? I have no idea.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm reading a Claire Messud book right now. She's pretty amazing. I'm a fan of Ian McEwan, Jonathan Lethem, Ann Patchett, HUGE Michael Pollan enthusiast...

I won't even get into the movie thing here. I'm a big snob when it comes to them in general. I did like Up though. Quite a bit.

Music! Egad. Bon Iver's on right now. David Byrne was most recently the best show I've seen in ages. Right now and always, in no particular order: Elliott Smith, New Pornographers (and of course Neko Case and Destroyer. Of course), Beirut, Bob Dylan, Andrew Bird, Kaki King, Paco de Lucia, Of Montreal, Pinback, Kraftwerk...I won't even bother continuing.

I like pretty much all food when it's done well. Well, that's not really true anymore since I stopped eating meat. Yeah, I went pescetarian a few months back. Please don't hold it against me.

The six things I could never do without

Yoga, iphone (sorry, but it's true...I love that thing), my super-duper sister, avocados, loungewear, the New Yorker. (We all know the live without thing is a gross exaggeration, right?)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Yoga philosophy, my corporate-escape plan, why republicans can be so mean, BART, my next meal...

On a typical Friday night I am

My social life has taken a turn for the healthier and more low-key on the last few years (welcome to the 30s...). Friday night is maybe a few drinks, frequently a meal. I do have some very delightful friends. So I'll likely being hanging around some of them on a Friday night.

You should message me if

You are clever, passionate and confidant. You are out of your 20s and have left behind the physical/mental/emotional hang-ups and insecurities that go along with those days. You don't care if I go to yoga a LOT (I mean you could come with me, if you want, if you dig vinyasa flow). You love what you do. You're looking for someone to commit to (even if maybe commitment wasn't always your scene. Ahem).

Also, if you're a musician and messaged me and didn't hear back, I apologise. Sure, it's a gross generalization. But I'm kind of over dating musicians.
