Deciding to try something new, perhaps call it an alt, to see if anything changes. Currently this is a work in progress and mostly a forum for being truly honest with a captive viewing audience.

Tried the anonymity bit, but that didn't last. I couldn't bring myself to troll my friends who were messaging me in good faith. While the concept was humorous, fucking with people when it comes to matters of the heart kinda sucks.

No kids, don't want them, can't have them. Until puppies or children are house trained, it's best I deal with them in an avuncular manner.

OMG! I found a place. It's not a multimillion dollar home and it's not in SF. Moving across the bay to a live/work warehouse space. I'll have 1200 square feet that's all my own and have already started building skyward to the 30 foot ceiling! I'm keeping the hot tub. It will be in the living room unless I score a shipping container. Water is heavy. Do you have any idea what it takes to support 200 gallons on a loft made of wood?

The new job is great. Boss is awesome. Work/life is melding faster than a Vulcan's mind. I'm thinking bicycle to the Oakland ferry, then walk/bike to work once I move. Is it just me or is the concept of taking a boat to work romantic (in the romantic sense, of course). ;-)

There is a lot of music. I started playing the mandolin in October and am learning the accordion now, too. We headlined the DNA in February and will be performing for the Sisters in Dolores Park for Easter. We headlined the DNA again just before the Prince show and were featured in the Chronicle's style section this week. It's crazy!

Easter got rained out. Ended up traveling up the Marin coast with a friend. Totally different scene, still lots of fun.

I <3 books, but haven't been reading much recently. Lots of sci-fi, cyberpunk, classics, noir. In the age of ebooks, it makes it difficult to see someone's soul on a bookshelf, mine included...

I'm a movie whore. Don't make it to the theater nearly enough, but will probably start spending weekends hibernating and catching up on things soon. Noir, sci-fi, period pieces.

Most of the music I own is old. Lots of industrial and swing with some other stuff thrown in. It's not uncommon for me to throw a random streaming trance/electronica station when I'm working. It gives my mind something to do, but isn't distinctive enough to be distracting.

Food = yes. I eat well at work. We typically go out 3 days/week to decent restaurants. It's not uncommon for me to drag friends out to dinner so I can fill the gaps for the few things my coworkers won't eat. Sushi, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Cuban, Italian, American, German, all of it!

This is tough, as I've lived with nothing.

1) My hitchiker's guide. (iPad) I use it all the time for everything.

2) A decent bed

3) Alone time

4) Biscuits and cheese. That is not a euphemism. Blood sugar crashes are a bitch.

5) Intimate contact. While it won't kill me if I don't have it, life is pretty unpleasant otherwise.

6) I've become pretty attached to the hot tub. The fireplace is nice, too.

Where I'll be moving when my lease is up. SF? Oakland? Maybe Pacifica?
When I move, will I be settled enough for a dog?
Do they make MILF porn for women?

On this Friday night, I'm drinking a bottle of aught nine Bordeaux and sitting in the hot tub. Hopefully I'll get some stars, but, if not, the forest of a back yard will still be there.
