My self-summary
***********************************************
About me:
***********************************************
I am a strong and independent person, and prefer my own company to the wrong company. My relationships have been few, far between, deep, meaningful, and long-lasting. I have an abiding interest in the meaning of life, and I strive to be a kind and ethical person. I am secular, non-religious, and I don't consider myself "spiritual", since I consider that term to be so broadly and ill-defined, it has lost any meaning for me. I am open-minded about life, and whatever happens after life ceases. I love reading books and watching films depicting historical events. I want an educated, inquisitive, but non-stuffy companion who loves to learn and does not shy away from controversial topics. That said, I would not be compatible with a person who's conservative politics blinds them to issues like climate change, corporate welfare, and our collective responsibilities to care for the old, sick, etc.

This is what I seek (and what I offer back):

1) Emotional intelligence, broad-mindedness, insatiable curiosity, excellent communication skills.
2) Sexually/emotionally monogamous: preferring depth and passion to breadth in relationships.
3) Enjoy long brisk walks and/or bike rides.
4) Values getting to know each other.
5) A kind, decent, psychologically healthy, honest person.
6) Healthy eating habits and lifestyle. Maintains a healthy weight.
7) I would strongly prefer someone with a college degree. Someone who can read, spell, communicate effectively. Not a couch potato. Not someone whose main pastime is spectator sports.

That about sums it up. The rest is chemistry.

P.S. Stop by and say hi if you're an Eddie Izzard fan.
What I’m doing with my life
I alternate between feathering my nest, building my professional practice, writing articles for my health blog, socializing with friends, and on occasion, getting involved in good causes. There's enough time on the agenda for you, though :)
I’m really good at
1) Hula hooping.
2) Any David Sedaris fans out there? My writing style has been compared to his.
3) Burning pots--and dinner--but catching my mistake before I burn the house down.
4) Faking accents. And mimicry.
5) Singing harmony.
The first things people usually notice about me
Visually: Tall, slim, nice smile, captivating green eyes, nice derriere...Jewish?
Acoustically: Nice voice with faint New York accent.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything directed by Michael Moore, Tennessee Williams, Hitchcock, Shawshank Redemption, Cuckoo's Nest, Shadowlands, Being John Malkovich, West Side Story. Ken Burns, POV, Bill Moyers, Democracy Now (Amy Goodman), TED talks, NPR. Steinbeck (i.e. Grapes of Wrath), Emile Zola, Howard Zinn, Barbara Ehrenreich. A Primate's Journal by Robert Sapolsky. Genres: I like non-fiction, history, biography, classics, foreign, erotica, musicals, comedy, drama, sci-fi, horror. I dislike sports, mystery and detective stories. Big Eddie Izzard fan :)

Motown, R & B, Smokey Robinson, Temptations, Big Mama Thornton, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Amy Winehouse, Blondie, Middle Eastern and North African music.

I prefer organic vegan food, but I supplement with grass-fed/organic meat/fish. I love green papaya salad, Asian cuisine, Masao's Kitchen, The Red Lentil restaurant. And, pot luck dinners. Food tastes better when shared!
The six things I could never do without
1) I run on high octane fuel. It cuts down on maintenance expenses in the long run.
2) My bathtub. Alone or with company.
3) My liver. Have you thanked your liver today?
4) I need to talk dirty some times.
5) I need to show how smart I am by using polysyllabic words and oblique references sometimes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking that I should meditate more and "think" less.
On a typical Friday night I am

I've feng shuied my bedroom.
