I am currently a PhD student at UT-Austin and I am so glad to be in Austin for this experience. I explore town in all its glory, go out, love my couch, am a die hard Longhorn fan, and truly believe that in order to do my best work academically, personal days, being social, and being healthy are a must. I am a dog person, and yes cats think they are better than people, and thus freak me out. I am a girly girl sometimes (you know, when it comes to being organized and loving shoes) but am often considered one of the guys.

getting a PhD ... we'll see where this goes, but it's interesting and I enjoy my research.

I occasionally dapple in graphic design freelance work and am in the fitness industry.

keeping up with college football, attempting to be objective when it comes to Longhorn sports, remembering random information, motivating my fitness participants, and engaging in conversation.

Movies: Historical sports movies (e.g. Coach Carter), comedies, romantic comedies (I am a girl), Marvel, Sherlock Holmes

Music: Country (texas converted me), "adult alternative" (my music channels on my TV call it this)
Food: Tex mex, and anything new

Ok, that's seven... I study communication... Not counting. And yes, they are all real things... But I picture this question as inquiring my needs on a deserted island. And the definition of deserted means no people... So I cant bring friends, family, or my dog... Sadly.

Where I may be in 5 years.

either home watching movies or out with friends (dancing or a couple of beers...either will do!)

That while I enjoy what I am doing, I am fearful for what grad school may present and what afterwards may bring.
