I am affectionate, drama-free, and relaxed.
My Self-Summary
Hello! I am happily married. We have 2 young children. We are
looking to make friends and hopefully find some special people who
could become more. We are not swingers, but consider ourselves
polyamorous.
UPDATE (2/10): I now have some truly wonderful people in my life. I
am not only very lucky, but very busy. I am always interested in
meeting open minded people for friendship, but nothing more. My
dance card is full. I am polysaturated. ;)
I have quickly learned that I need to be specific here about what I
am and am NOT looking for. I am not interested in a quick hook up.
I am not here looking for casual sex. I am interested in making
friends, meeting interesting people and couples, and possibly being
open to more than friendship. We believe all relationships should
start out as friends first! If something develops naturally,
wonderful. Each relationship defines itself depending on the people
involved. That said, we are a family and require that anyone
interested in getting to know us is willing to spend time with us
as a family. My husband and I come as a unit. If you have more
questions please feel free to message me.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I guess I should tell you
something about myself. It's hard to say what I am without going
into a list of my roles, and I've found that it's easier to say
what I'm not. I'm one of those boring normal people (ok, except the
poly part). I'm not an environmental activist. I don't attend sci
fi conventions. I'm not a gamer, granola girl, or hippy (though I
have been told I have a 'hippy aura'). And I'm not busy making my
Renaisance Fair costume (although I have been to a few). I am
sarcastic, and I love to write (check out my journal). I like to be
active, but am basically lazy. I like to be outdoors, and you will
often find me in the backyard watching my son with a book and a
snack nearby. My favorite season is Autumn. I love the colors, the
sounds, the smells, and feeling of it. I like to get to know
people, and I think I'm pretty easy going. I'm not a girly girl. I
don't play head games, and I'm not emotionally needy. I hate drama
and generally avoid people who have drama in their lives, as I
don't want it creeping into mine. If any of this sounds appealing
to you, then please, read on......

What I’m doing with my life
What am I doing? I guess I'm living, which seems to take up most of
my time. You know, the day to day grind that most of us can't seem
to escape for longer than a weekend. After teaching school for 8
years, I am now a
stay at home mom. Which means I
gave up my pay check (which was going straight to daycare anyway),
and most daily adult interaction to raise my children.

I’m really good at
Ouch! It hurts when you have to take time to think about what
you're good at. I'm good with kids, all ages. I love to read and
spend most of my free time reading sci fi/fantasy novels. I'm good
at organization and time management (that's pretty boring, huh?).
I'm excellent at parallel parking (must be the above average
spatial skills). I'm a decent game player, dependable friend, and
awesome dance partner.
The first things people usually notice about me
1. My hair. I'm a
redhead (kinda a strawberry blond which
has darkened to almost an auburn).
2. My smile. I have a big smile, with white straight teeth.
3. My weight. I am 5'7" and weigh 100 lbs. This puts me as
underweight on any chart you care to look up. However, I am not
unhealthy, nor do I have any eating disorders. I eat what I want
when I want. I just happened to get the skinny gene (my brother,
whom I look a lot alike, is 6'4" and weighs about 170).
4. My freckles. Yes, I am a redhead with freckles. There are very
few redheads who do not have freckles. Which means I use sunscreen
and have fair skin.
5. My affection. I am a very affectionate and friendly person. I am
not afraid to touch or hug people and crave physcial contact. I
have close friends who are Brazilian and have been to stay with
them a few times. I love the Brazilian cultural norm of touching
people to whom you are talking in order to show they have your full
attention. However, I am not grabby, and don't get into people's
faces. I know that not everyone is accepting of physical contact
and try to limit it to just close friends.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: almost anything
fantasy or
paranormal romance, some sci
fi, erotica, and classic juv. lit. (The last 2 don't look like they
belong in the same list) Some favorite titles include: Lord of the
Rings, Harry Potter, Little Women, Alas Babalon, Diana Gabaldon's
Outlander series, The Seven Waters series, The Compass Rose series,
Jane Austen's
Emma, Pride and Prejudice, and Persuasion,
Movies: Lord of the Rings, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion,
Little Women (Hmmmm...this is looking familiar). Princess Bride,
Return to Me, Ever After (Love that Cinderella rescues herself),
French Kiss, Anything with the 80's Brat Pack (Pretty in Pink, The
Breakfast Club, etc.)
Music: Punk (The Ramones, Greenday), singer song writers (Cheryl
Crow, Tori Amos, Pink, John Mayer, Jason Mraz), Alt., Hardrock, and
some metal (Evanescence, Violent Femmes). I love Lenny Kravitz
(He's also really hot). The Butthole Surfers are cool. My fav song
is:
"I Want You to Want
Me" by Cheap Trick. Lately I've been singing
"Memory" by Bon Jovi. I will
listen to just about anything I can dance to or sing along with (I
think I'm really good at both, but in reality I'm probably not). I
do not like jazz, though I do like blues. I don't like trance,
club, house, or anything that's over 7 min long and repetitive. I'm
not particularly fond of classical, but I love folk music. I can
tolerate most country, but I love bluegrass.
Food: Anything (especially if I don't have to cook it)! Italian,
Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Pizza, seafood, steak.....
TV: (I added this category because I don't keep a running list of
fav movies or books, but most people can name what they watch on TV
on a regular basis.)
So You Think You Can
Dance, America's Best Dance Crew, Grey's Anatomy, Project
Runway, Top Chef, any of the Stargate series, I also loved the one
and only season of
Firefly (the movie just wasn't as good).

The six things I could never do without
1. My family. My husband and kids are the center of my life.
2. Affection. I am a very affectionate person.
3. Books (and now that I am a stay at home mom...the library)
4. Seasons. I love the changing of the seasons, especially autumn.
I lived in Phoenix for 2 years and really missed the seasons.
5. Grass. I know this sounds funny. But I have lived in Phoenix and
been to Brazil. I can't live anyplace where I wouldn't be able to
walk outside in the grass barefoot, even if my backyard is only
about 20x20. (Yes, I was raised in the country)
6. Dark Chocolate (doesn't everyone have this on their list?)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My kids. Hey, that's kinda my job. I need to be quite honest here.
I do not keep up on politics or current events. I used to and it
just stressed me out. My husband reads the Wall Street Journal
daily and knows more about what's going on in the world than anyone
I know. We are opposites in quite a lot like that. It works for us.
I don't think people need to have the same interests in order to be
compatible, they just need to be able to like the good things about
each other more than they dislike the bad things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Friday night? I have young children. If I'm not tired and going to
bed, then I'm taking some time to reconnect with loved ones or
watch some tv. I don't go out to bars, partly because I don't drink
that much, but mostly because Indiana allows smoking in bars and I
can't be around that much smoke. Not to say that once in a while I
don't love a night on the town or hitting the clubs, but it's not a
regular occurrence.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I am a
realistic optimist. My
husband thinks I am too trusting. I just try to give people the
benefit of the doubt. I look for the good in things and try to make
any situation amusing, if not fun. That being said, I also love to
make snide, sarcastic comments to my close friends. I am not perky,
hyper, or a cheerleader type. I am the nerdy girl with a sense of
humor that sat in the back row and made A's in Calc while trying to
make the guy in front of her laugh.

You should message me if
*You are a person or couple looking to make friends, or you might
be interested in a
poly relationship (friendship first).
*If I visited your profile and didn't send you a message and we
have a higher than 75% match, it's probably because your profile
doesn't say you are poly. I am generally only trying to contact
poly people. If you are poly, but keep it private, then feel free
to let me know!
*If you have not told your spouse/significant
other/boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever about your OKC account, do not
contact me!
ATTENTION: I do not chat via i.m. with random strangers. If you
want to contact me please send a message that is longer than one
line. I will do my best to respond, but don't waste your time and
mine if you want a quick hook up (that's not what I'm about). Also,
if you're really interested and want a response, commenting on one
of my journals is a good way to get my attention. Thanks!
QUICKMATCH: If you spend time doing quick matches, good for you. I
don't. So, it's not that I didn't give you 'high marks'. It's that
I don't like the quickmatch function. Send me a message instead. :)
