Howdy

I'm originally an east-coaster, but now call Quebec City home until this summer, at which time i'll be transplanted to the lovely Ottawa. And FYI, je parle français aussi.
I work for the gov't, in the field of defending our national interests and wearing green pajamas. And yes, it's just like the movies. Well, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, mostly.
I spend my free time getting out and seeing the city, seeing bands in pubs & bars, keeping fit, reading, music & movies, and cooking for myself. I try to keep in shape (round is a shape, right?) with some running and biking, and eventually i'm going to throw in some weights too.
I also like to keep up-to-date on current affairs and internet memes - you know, the important things.
I enjoy traveling and there's a lot to this world i have yet to see, but i've gotten to taste Australia, briefingly visit parts of the Caribbean and glimpse Europe, so far.

So far it has been school then career, with a bit of travel thrown in now and again. Mostly intense periods of awesomeness.

There was that thing at that time in that place, but i can't really go into it...

That's pretty much it.

I had to get satradio because the local stations were driving me crazy - and it turned out to be one of the best things i've done. I'm usually listening to Altstation or 80's on 8.
Bands that i enjoy include Foster the People, Cults, Caravan Palace, Broken Bells, Imagine Dragons, Two Door Cinema Club, The Editors, Koop, Of Monsters and Men, Coldplay, Miike Snow, Young the Giant, the Limousines, Noel Gallagher, Grouplove, Snow Patrol, The Lonely Island, Flogging Molly.
I also have a soft spot for classic rock of the 60's & 70's.

I'm a big movie buff and although my collection is pretty large, my favorites are Old School, Last of the Mohicans, Hunt for Red October, Tron Legacy, Tropic Thunder, the Bourne trilogy, The Life Aquatic, Casino Royale, Flight of the Navigator. I saw Gangster Squard recently - good flick.

I'm catching up on TV shows so i'm running through these series: Boardwalk Empire, Justified, Mad Men, The Tudors, and Breaking Bad.
Series i regularly watch include House, Venture Bros, 30Rock, The Walking Dead and Fringe. And i'm sad that the The Wire is long done.

I recently read The Painted Man and i guess next up will be The Desert Spear, however my to-read pile consists of The Letters of Ernest Hemingway and Half-blood Blues. And the latest issues of Green Lantern.
