My self-summary
I am smart, nerdy, and terribly obsessed with learning. I can be scatterbrained and difficult to follow, as well.

'Duck' was my first word, 'Chocolate' was my second. Mama and dada came later.

I am not one particular religion, but I have read the basic texts of Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Christianity (numerous sects), and some Islam. Over all, I probably identify the closest with Taoism/Hindu mysticism. Outside of my interest in eastern religion, I am interested in western philosophy, particularly Existentialism, Absurdism, and Transcendentalism.

I am obsessed with teaching myself things. Pretty much everything I know any notable mount about, I taught myself. Pretty much always been the kid that aces the tests, but never does his homework. I like English, Chemistry (particularly Organic Chemistry), Pharmacology (medicine), Philosophy, and little bits and pieces from most sciences.

I am a huge music nerd. I try to find at least one new album that I like every few days. In order to accomplish this, I usually have to listen to ten different bands that I have never heard of, in genres I can't pronounce. Asking me what my favorite band can be pointless during some periods.

I am autonomous, explorative, and fascinated
What I’m doing with my life
Holy crap this is a hard question. Um, founding a psychedelic church? It changes quite often.

In all seriousness though, I would like to pursue travel and volunteer work for a few years. I may go to China to teach English to some monks, or Costa Rica/Peru to volunteer in hospitals assisting doctors. I'm not sure where I want to go, or what language I want to learn yet.
I’m really good at
I am good at knowing things. When it comes to a topic that I am interested in, or has temporarily caught my attention, I will learn everything I possibly can about it, as quickly as possible. I have a tendency to get obsessed with a topic, then teach myself as much as I possibly can about it. So far, my obsessions have been:

-Greek/Roman mythology

-Latin (can read and understand spoken Latin to an extent)

-Computer repair (been fixing them for my family, and some businesses, since I was at least 11)

-Pharmacology (effects on your brain and body) of most legal and illegal drugs. I don't mean to brag, but I know a LOT about this stuff, and have had to teach a couple doctors some things during visits :p

-Psychology in general, particularly therapy, as I wanted to be a therapist for a long time. I may still end up doing this.

-Organic Chemistry. For some reason that is beyond me, O-Chem is really fun to me. I like the idea that even though it is all super complicated, you are basically just playing with shapes at the end of it all :).

-Lots of random music stuff. If you want to know *ANYTHING* about The Beatles, or of modern electronic music, I probably have a good answer for you. The same goes for most anything inbetween.

-English! For some reason, I have never had any problems stringing together a sentence or a paragraph. I'm so good at bullshitting and creating filler for essays, it is unsettling. Very helpful when it comes to school assignments in any topic where you have to write an essay.
The first things people usually notice about me
Weird half-black-what-the-fuck-is-that hair.

After that, probably whatever it is that I am talking about at the time. I am a bit too smart for my own good; I am always trying spread the knowledge that I have, and gain new information, sometimes (often maybe?) to a fault. I've never been asked "Are you SURE you want to know [x]?" in my life, and not said "Yes, absolutely."

Sometimes I can seem like an intelligent teacher/role-model type to people, or a crazy overexcited idealist, depending on whether or not you agree with/understand my point. I also tend to ramble, so I don't judge too harshly when most people don't (or can't) follow my point from start to finish. Ideally though, I would like a girl that I can actually, fully share my mind with :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
1. Les Miserables (This book is beautiful and everyone should read it)
2. Brave New World
3. Godel, Escher, Bach

Movies:
Too fucking hard to order. List in no particular order:
Donnie Darko, Battle Royale, Zack & Miri Make A Porno, 9 Songs, Akira, Spirited Away, How High, The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, The Game, Happiness, The Departed, Children Of Men, and most of Seth Rogen and Will Ferrel's comedy movies.

Music:
Literally changes every day. I listen to a lot of genres of music that most people I know haven't even heard of.

For this week, Ladytron, The Faint, Emma Shapplin, I'm From Barcelona, Saltillo, Zero 7, Led Zeppelin, Rockabye Baby, The String Quartet, Tribalistas, Loituma, and a LOT more. If you don't recognize some of those, message me, and I'll try to open your eyes :)

Food:
THAI FOOD! Or really, anything with curry, though Thai curry is the best. After that, pizza, chicken paninis, salami, apples, bananas, fancy well-aged cheese, and most anything that is NOT seafood. I unfortunately have a strong, irrational and unfounded dislike for all forms of seafood. I tried sushi once and it was okay, but I will need much encouragement to pursure fish any further :p
The six things I could never do without
Cell phone
Computer
Internet
Music
Godlike powers
Sugar
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Fractals, and how they relate to the universe, and possibly human behavior.

Chemistry, and how you can modify a molecule very slightly to make a whole new, totally different substance.

The human brain, and how amazing it is in so many different ways.

I am also really heavy into philosophy, so I am one of those people that actually is bothered by - and loses sleep over - the question of the meaning of life. That sounds silly, but I feel no question is so big that one shouldn't even attempt to think about it seriously :).

Religion. Though I don't ascribe to any one specific religion, I always find it interesting to compare religions mentally. Most of them are very similar at their bases.
On a typical Friday night I am
Exploring. Either the outside world, my mind, or the possibilities that lay ahead.

There is a good chance that I may be out getting really messed up and partying with my friends, though I wouldn't say that that is my TYPICAL Friday night, though it does happen a lot :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I admit that I think that this is sort of a fluff question. Seriously though, I have no problem sharing private stuff, but would it be private if I put it on this public website? I am not sure, so just message me and we'll get to talking :)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
You are on fire and I am in a position to help you. Also, if you like or are interested by anything I have written.

You should also message me if you are a stoner chick, or a nerdy chick, I like both of those groups :)
