My self-summary
I'm a socially adaptable nerd with a penchant for punnery, absurdidty, and a love of British farce.

An abiding need to learn is probably why my hobbies are so varied from blues dancing, robot making, hiking, cooking. Once a month I'm off playing pretend running around in the woods with foam covered sticks. Next I'm thinking something that I can use to make costumes.

Boardgames are amazing. The ability they have to create fun social interactions with anyone is fantastic; we should play a game or three; I'm in it for the fun, so don't worry I'll be gracious when I win and happy to start the next game if I don't.

Occasionally spending a day going to the Farmers Market picking up bunches of quality produce. Cooking all the tasty food after, and then inviting friends over while they eat it; one of those perfect days.
What I’m doing with my life
Mostly I'm having fun finding shenanigans I can get into. I'm part-time logistics for my LARP group I was given the unofficial title of "Feast Regent, Wearer of the Iron Torque."

Enjoying my ability to use my creative problem solving skills as an Magnetics Engineer, but as the only engineer in a small company my job equates to 'the guy that does all the technical things.'
I’m really good at
Reading about how to do something and then doing it. Replacing a starter on a car after watching a YouTube video, Deboning a turkey after watching a YouTube video. Watching YouTube videos.
The first things people usually notice about me
Things people have mentioned:
- I've got nice cheek bones; or was it my cheekiness.
- The acceptability of my facial hair; it's been growing on me for awhile.

In the right circumstances:
- Making myself hoarse on a roller coaster,
- Having fun making a fool of myself and not caring,
- Taking things in stride.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food: I order tripe with my pho and make my 40 clove chicken with 80. I'll try anything twice, once if it kills me.

Music: My eclectic Pandora playlist: Bonobo, Maya Jane, Daft Punk, Cake, Quantic, They Might be Giants, Regina Spektor, Emma Wallace, Oh Land, The Lab Rats, Vermillion Lies, Alice Russell, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Handcock, Reggie Watts, and Spam Allstars.

Movies: From Old Martial arts classics like ‘Drunken Master’. Action films like Jurassic Park. Good quotable comedies like Mel Brooks films, Monty Python films, The Princess Bride, and Cannibal! The Musical. Dramas and even a musical or two. I have a huge soft spot for Disney, Pixar, and Miyazaki films. I think I may just love movies in general.

Books: A small list of favorite books are: Snow Crash, Ender's Game, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Sparrow, Meditations (Marcus Aurelius), and The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox.

TV Netflix shows I have liked marathoning in the past. Doctor Who, Firefly, Sherlock, Archer, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Star Trek TNG and DS9, Red Dwarf, and Farscape.

My car radio is permanently set to OPB: Radiolab, Snap Judgment, Philosophy Talk, Science Friday, and The Splendid Table are just amazing shows.

Internet things: I have a few podcasts I try to listen to the Alton Browncast, Today We Learned, and the like. I also enjoy Ted Talks quite a bit.
The six things I could never do without
Produce - Fresh and as raw as possible,
Socializing and Not-socializing - Ambiversion: introvert who needs people…or maybe an extrovert who doesn't? An introverted party animal? I'm not sure but there is a joke here somewhere.
Hugs - I offer them freely to all.
Sheets right out of the dryer - Mmm
Spell Check. - The fingers don't always follow the brain.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- How do you imagine a world without hypotheticals?
- Humor Philosophically speaking.
- There is no end to the things to be passionate about; I've found many things I really enjoy, but how can I do all the things!
- How to not keep the gym experience from becoming empty without headphones.
- What type of bee makes milk?
On a typical Friday night I am
I have established plans with friends. It's starts with cooking some amazing food (I'm particularly partial to the stupefacente italiano nights.) Then we progress into our RPG that's really is just 60% Joke and Pun References, 30% "Oh, there was this one time", 10% Plot Progression.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
While alone and the music is on, I will pull out all the dance moves that should never be used on the dance floor, ever.

You should message me if
- You could tell a joke about Noble gasses, and not get a reaction.
- You think the idea of playing pirates at the next OMSI After Dark is a thing worth doing.
- You know of good dance lessons for this summer; I can't decide between Salsa (Cali style, Bachata...) or Swing (west coat, east coast...) I don't know! halp!
- You're willing to trade Brick for sheep or wood (why always so much? what are you trying to tell me Catan!)
- You have a favorite Doctor or Captain; who, why? Curious minds (hey, that's me) want to know.
