I am outgoing, energetic, and caring.

My Self-Summary

I'm a punk rock loving musician, I play bass and sing in a band called Humanifesto. I love reading books on politics, science, comedy, and sci-fi. Biographies are pretty cool too. I toy around on my computer a little, but I'm no addict.

For the last year, I've become really interested in Zen Buddhism. Contrary to popular belief, and my "religion" status, Buddhism isn't really a religion; at best it's an non-theist dogma. While some Buddhists (Tibetans come to mind) are highly spiritual, in Zen Buddhism the belief is basically that there was this dude called Gautama Buddha, and he had some pretty cool ideas about how to live.

I've lived in Montreal pretty much all my life, ignoring a one-month failed attempt at living in Calgary. Never have I been so bored in my entire life. I love the city life. An occasional trip to the country is always nice, but I don't think I could ever live out there. Currently I live in an amazing apartment right on St. Laurent blvd, and I couldn't ask for a better place.

I've got a full sleeve tattoo, for those of you who care about that stuff. I've also planned out my whole left arm, and I've got a great idea brewing for my back, if ever I decide to go that far.

Oh yeah, I do that whole vegan thing, too.

What I’m doing with my life

I mentioned my band already, but here's a bit more about us. We're working on a new album at the moment, and we're going through some lineup changes that'll make us better than ever. Funny how I wrote this paragraph a year ago, and it still holds true. But everything is finally coming together.

Outside of music, I currently work in a large telecommunications company doing internet network support, not customer service related at all, thankfully.

I’m really good at

Cooking awesome vegetarian meals, writing melodies, fixing computers. I love longboarding through the streets during the warmer months, which for me means as soon as the snow melts until the snow comes back!

The first things people usually notice about me

I've got a big smile, but they probably notice the huge holes in my ears first.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy
Daniel Quinn - Ishmael; The Story Of B
Noam Chomsky - Hegemony Or Survival
Brad Warner - Hardcore Zen
Chuck Palahniuk - Fight Club
Noah Levine - Against The Stream
Christopher Hitchens - God Is Not Great
Haruki Murakami - A Wild Sheep Chase

Movies: Fight Club, Zeitgeist, Spinal Tap.

Music: Propagandhi, The Smiths, NOFX, The Beatles, Sage Francis, Clann Zu, Bad Religion, Miles Davis, Smashing Pumpkins, Atmosphere.

Food: Aux Vivres vegan BLT sandwiches, Falafel, Tofu Stirfries.

The six things I could never do without

Music, books, my sister, my friends, intelligent comedy, longboarding.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The present moment.

On a typical Friday night I am

Out partying with my friends, or relaxing in preparation for even better partying Saturday night.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I like having my back scratched a whole lot.

You should message me if

You actually have a desire to change the world. You're not trying to destroy the world. You understand that your actions can make a difference. You have some delicious veggie food for me.
