My self-summary Propose an edit
I am a hard-working and career-oriented guy. While I am dedicated
to my job and know what I want out of life, it doesn't mean that I
can't cut loose and have fun either! I like to think of myself as a
jack of all trades and an all-weather guy - I enjoy everything from
writing, literature and the
arts, to beer and a
ballgame. I am fiercely loyal and always give my full attention
when I'm talking to someone. I aim to please, and can take jokes as
well as I can dish them out.
Some random things about me: - I'm a trivia nut, and catch myself answering
along with the contestants on Jeopardy! quite a bit.
- I keep tons of fragments of verse and random bits of prose that
will one day find their place in the greatest novel ever
written.
- I'm not afraid to have just one movie, TV show episode, or video
game from a series if I just like that installment. Because often,
a trilogy is one good movie and two attempts to recapture the
magic.
- I'm a big fan of video games as a whole. It's a art
form that hasn't yet had its Citizen Kane. That's right, I
said it. I'm not for the bait-and-switch - I have definite nerd
tendencies and have no qualms about owning up to them. The
assumption that this means I am socially inept and consider Han
Solo one of my heroes, however, is an erroneous one - some people
just make the rest of us look bad. But if you're looking for a guy
who spends 75% of his life buying clothes and working his sunless
spray-on tan, I'm not your guy.
- Above all, I'm my own person, regardless of how the world may
perceive me or how people may judge me. I'd rather someone hate me
for who I am, than to love me for what I'm not.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I am currently working in the Market Research field. Work is
challenging, sometimes frustrating, but I work with great people,
and it helps keep my spirits up. Unfortunately, I have not had too
much time to socialize too much beyond my current social circles
(unavoidable part of being a working adult with responsibilities),
so with hopes, I'll meet some more interesting friends here!
I am eternally grateful to this site for introducing me to my
wonderful girlfriend (she's Muirghiel, if you're curious), and she
is near and dear to my heart. We're not perfect, and we know that,
but we're perfect for one another.
Overall it's a very exciting time, and change is in the air. I'm
making ends meet and enjoying life, and just finished moving into a
new home, while always looking to precariously scale that corporate
ladder. I'm in a great relationship, have a steady job, and I'm
just in a good place in my life right now. It reminds me to be more
appreciative of my blessings and to take nothing for granted.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I am really good at what I do. I'm well-spoken and can adapt as the
situation requires. We can be hanging out with friends and watching
the Knicks game on one day, and at a formal dinner the next, but I
can hold my own at both events. I give my all in relationships, and
I don't believe in going at anything half-assed.
I seem to have also accumulated years of trivial knowledge about
all kinds of things. Seriously, just ask if you're curious! I guess
it's just a subconscious process at this point.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
That I'm tall and thin. I never really thought of myself as tall,
but I can't tell you how many times people have commented on how
tall I am, or more specifically, how tall I am for an Asian.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I am a big fan of Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club and Choke are great), Neil Gaiman, and
Nabokov. I read a
wide variety of things, from Shakespeare and the classics, to
modern popular fiction like Dan Brown. Other favorites include
The Picture Of Dorian
Gray, The Bridge of San Luis
Rey, Romance of the Three
Kingdoms, Catch
22, The
Great Gatsby, and Michael Palmer's The Company of
Moths.
I have a lot of favorite movies, including: Crouching Tiger
Hidden Dragon, Waking Life, The Nightmare
Before Christmas, The Shawshank
Redemption, William Shakespeare's Romeo+Juliet, Eternal
Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moulin Rouge, The Emperor's Club,
Sin City,
V for
Vendetta, Casino, Perhaps Love, Mr. and Mrs. Smith,
the Lord
of the Rings Trilogy, American Beauty, 300, and The Matrix (part 1 only). Oh, and
The Dark
Knight was amazing, so I highly recommend it if you haven't
seen it yet.
Musically I have very versatile tastes. I am a big fan of Tori Amos, and I also
enjoy music by Evanescence, Sevendust, Lacuna Coil, Nirvana, Three Days Grace,
Stone
Temple Pilots, Sarah McLachlan, I:Scintilla,
Fleetwood Mac, Sublime, Nine Inch Nails, and Garbage, among others. But
that doesn't mean I'm above admitting that I like the occasional
pop song by Alicia Keys or Justin Timberlake. I'm not afraid to
admit that I like stuff like that from time to time.
I am a fan of food in general. I actually really like Japanese,
Italian and Mexican (both authentic and American variety) food.
Cooking is
actually one of my hobbies, so I like to take a bit from each style
depending on what I feel like.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Family is of great
importance to me.
- I cannot live without music.
- My friends. Without their help and support I wouldn't be where I
am now.
- My computer. I hate to say it, but it's true!
- My health. I learned to appreciate this so much more after some
close calls.
- Understanding. Because at the end of the day, it takes someone
else to reassure you you're not completely insane for being the way
that you are!
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
I think about a lot of things - philosophy and developing my own
unique outlook on the world, science, literature, and of course the
people in my life. I love surprising the people I care about, and I
am always looking for new ways to make people feel appreciated and
cared about. I've been told that I'm also very sentimental and
reflect a lot when it comes to the past. And of course, I spend a
lot of time thinking about the future.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
I've really never been the partying, drink-myself-under-the-table
type. I'm just not at that place in my life right now. On Friday
nights you'll usually find me either relaxing at home catching up
on my reading, putzing around on the internet, calling up friends I
haven't spoken to in a while, spending time with friends in the
City or elsewhere, or spending time with my girlfriend.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I am guilty of enjoying more than one chick flick. I'm sure a lot of guys
are, but are just less forthcoming about it.
You should message me if Propose an edit
I sound interesting to you! I'm looking for friends - male or
female, though I seem to get along better with women than men in
general. I'd love to meet people with like interests, who can carry
on a conversation, and folks who are artistic, creative, and
multi-faceted in their interests. My taste in friends is as varied
as my taste in food - and so if you think we have anything in
common, chances are, we do!
