My self-summary
I've lived in Arizona for about eleven years. I originally came here for college and ended up staying. I grew up mostly in Alaska and Colorado. I usually feel much more at home outdoors than I do indoors. Art and music are extremely important to me. I also enjoy playing and watching sports when I have the time, but I've been told I don't seem like the "sports" type. I usually stay pretty busy, but I can always find time for someone special.
What I’m doing with my life
As far as what I'm doing for a living right now, I'm a free-lance graphic designer. I also started a small t-shirt printing business about 3 years ago.
When I have a little free time I usually spend it going to concerts, sporting events, camping, traveling or visiting friends & family.
I’m really good at
I hate to brag, but I'd say I'm fairly decent at drawing stuff, making epic mix cd's, skeet shooting, cooking good seafood and a few other things I can't think of at the moment.
The first things people usually notice about me
For most of the past couple of years it was my crazy long & curly hair, but I chopped it all off not too long ago. I don't know what it would be now.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite authors are Chuck Palahniuk, Hunter S. Thompson and Tom Robbins.
Some of my favorite movies include City of God, Repo Man, Me and You and Everyone We Know, The Royal Tanenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, Gummo, The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, Boondock Saints, Happiness, the original Star Wars trilogy, Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, Blue Velvet, and Eraserhead.
I could go on and on about music for days. Way too much to list, but at the top of the list would be Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, Townes Van Zandt, Graveyard, The Sword, Hank Williams, George Harrison, Animal Collective, Mike Patton, The Melvins, The Pixies, The Black Keys, and Daniel Johnston.
My favorite tv shows are The Daily Show, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Breaking Bad, Hell On Wheels, the Walking Dead, Louie & the League.
As for food, I'm a pretty adventurous eater. I'm always trying new foods. My newest obsession is Peruvian food. I also really like sushi, Thai food, Vietnamese food, Italian food, Indian food, Cajun food, steaks and good burgers. Most of my family is from the Ozarks so I've always really liked good southern food like fried catfish, okra and grits. I'm also a huge fan of the blackened alligator tail at Pappadeaux in Phoenix. I'd eat that every day if I could.
The six things I could never do without
I don't think there's anything I couldn't survive without, but if I were stranded on a desert island for years the top things I would miss the most would be friends/family, music, my computer, indoor plumbing and my sketch book (or at least some creative outlet).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about how to better myself & what I can do to improve life in general. I also think a lot about art projects I'd like to start when I have a little free time.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm usually either with friends watching a band at a bar and having a few beers, staying in and watching movies, or camping out in the woods somewhere with friends drinking around a fire. I usually try to get out of the house on the weekends since I work from home and don't get out much during the week.
